On a2000buick century odometer not working

You would need to take it to the dealer or someother qualified repair shop that has the diagnostic tool to check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes in the instrument cluster .
DTC B0570 Season Odometer Malfunction

The instrument cluster receives a vehicle speed input from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) over the Class 2 line. This signal is used in order to drive the speedometer and the odometer of the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster will compare the VSS data with a 16-point look-up table in order to determine needle deflection. A smooth filter is used in order to secure a continuous response. The season odometer displays the total accumulated kilometers (miles) of the vehicle. This value is permanently stored in the Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) of the instrument cluster. The trip odometer displays the accumulated kilometers (miles) to the tenths of a kilometer (mile) since the last reset. This value is stored in Keep Alive Memory (KAM) of the instrument cluster.

Test Description
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
Always perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check before attempting to diagnose this DTC.
This diagnostic procedure requires using a scan tool.
This repair procedure requires instrument cluster replacement.

1998 blazer 4x4 cannot get it into 4 wheel high when i pus the button th4x4 and low range lights both blink and it goes back to 2 wheel high

Transfer Case Shift Control Switch Indicator Flashes and Returns to Original Mode.
Circuit Description
This symptom usually occurs when a shift into or out of 4LOW will not occur. When the transfer case control module (TCCM) receives a request to shift into or out of 4LOW, the TCCM must see the following parameters before the shift routine can start:
?€¢
The vehicle speed must be below 3 MPH.

?€¢
The transmission must be in neutral.

If the TCCM does not see these conditions the shift control switch indicator lamp will flash for approximately 5 seconds and then return to the original gear.
Test Description
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step tests the operation of the transfer case shift control switch to help determine if the system is operating properly.

  2. This step determines if the vehicle speed sensor reading is correct.

  3. This step determines if the park switch reading is correct.

Speedometer works but not the rpm gauge 98 Tahoe 5.7

The speedometer is operated differently then the tachometer. Tachometer
The tachometer displays the engine speed in revolutions per minute (RPM). Voltage pulses are taken from the ignition control module (ICM) (Gasoline) or the generator (Diesel) and sent to the tachometer. Solid state circuits convert the pulse frequency in order to move the pointer of the tachometer.

What is the different between obd1 and obd2?

OBD-I was implemented to help diagnose the earliest Automotive on-board computers by monitoring certain parts of the systems electronically controlled fuel and ignition systems. But individual manufacturers were allowed to design their own diagnostic systems, which made it necessary for mechanics to have different software to access the data from various brand vehicles.

Manufacturers started incorporating OBD-II in various models as early as 1994. All cars built since January 1, 1996 for sale in North America have been required to have OBD-II systems. This system features standardized trouble codes for all makes of cars for most common problems. It also provides almost complete engine control and monitors parts of the chassis, body and accessory devices, as well as the diagnostic control network of the car.

This provides the ability to communicate with Body Control Modules which control things like Anti-Lock Brakes and Traction Control, Active Suspension systems, Anti-Theft systems and many other items not related to engine performance like the earlier systems were confined to.

There are some hot sale obd2 diagnostic tool http://www.xcardiag.com/search/?q=obd2

Car started than just killed it started ten minutes later

That could be caused by many different things. It could be a bad Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor or it could be caused by the onboard security system malfunctioning and "thinking" that you are trying to steal the car. It could be caused by an ignition module or it could be caused by the Powertrain Control Module. It could be a communications fault with the Body Control Module. It could be a wiring problem between any of these components. I have even seen similar problems caused by shorted battery cells.

To put it plain and simple, You should start the diagnostic process by scanning the entire computer network in your car.

Please note that MOST generic OBD code-readers CANNOT perform this function. They can usually only read continuous memory codes from the PCM. They cannot read "current" codes, nor can most of them access the many other modules in your vehicle. Most vehicles built in this millenium have at least 5 computer modules onboard and some as many as 14 modules. This is an important step in the diagnostic process because many times one module will report a problem with another module when the problem module is reporting "No Codes Present". As the cars are becoming more and more sophisticated, this is becoming a more and more necessary step in beginning the diagnosis of ANY problem you are experiencing with your vehicle.

Wats the code p1000 on my 2002 jaguar x type

P1000 JAGUAR - On Board Diagnostic System Readiness Test Not Complete, this is known as the OBD2 drive cycle.

Possible causes - The vehicle is new from the factory.
- Battery or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) had recently been disconnected.
- An OBD monitor failure occurred before completion of an OBD drive cycle.
- PCM Detected Trouble Codes (DTC) have recently been cleared with a scan tool.
When is the code detected? If DTC P1000 is triggered after DTCs have been cleared, all engine management OBD diagnostic monitor drive cycles have not been cleared. P1000 JAGUAR Description The On Board Diagnostic (OBD) monitors are performed during the OBD Drive Cycle. P1000 is stored in continuous memory if any of the OBD monitors do not carry out their full diagnostic check.

Can you please tell me were is the Diagnostic Link Connector located in a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

You have what is called an OBD 1 system on board diangostic 1every thing before 1996 had this system . So an OBD 11 code reader will not link to an OBD1 or even connect to it . The OBD1 systems connectors are usealy somewhere near the battery they look like odd shaped connectors that don't hook to any thing there may be one or two of them . The problem with OBD 1 was you need a differant code reader for every major brand of vehicle GM dosn't work with ford dodge may work with with AMC jeep im not sure so your going to have to do a little home work to find one of these readers because you can't find them in parts stores anymore good luck

Did not pass state inspection (vehicle)

First the fault codes,
U110C is No Fuel Level Bus Message
U0155 is No Cluster Bus Message.
Unfortunatly you have to be able to communicate with the instrument cluster with your scanner to diagnoise and I do not think an aftermarket scanner can do this.
