How do I fix problems of Dell computer 780 with power light yellow and black screen?

getnet,
What do the diagnostic led lights show. The diagnostic LEDs are located on the front of the chassis next to the power button. These diagnostic LEDs are only active and visible during the POST process. Once the operating system starts to load, they turn off and are no longer visible. Below is the manual that provides information on what the led pattern shows to help resolve the issue.

Dos prompt flashes up

Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system usually the Delete or the F2 key
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart.
if this fails to fix the problem
During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer
you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell what file has been corrupted or missing you might be able to work your way through problem if you are unable to find a solution
restart back into safe mode you might need to select your operating system to load into safe mode
To perform a system restore, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
2.On the General tab, click Launch System Restore.
3.Select Restore my computer to an earlier time, and then click Next.
4.Calendar dates in bold are possible restore points. Click the most recent one to view system restore information.
5.Select a system checkpoint or an installation restore point, and then click Next.
6.Close all other programs.

Could you tell me my motherboard number i want a instruction manual

You can find mother board number by many steps.Below are some which can help you out

1.On starting your system go to the BIOS menu and go to "Additional Information" tab there you can find your motherboard number .
If you do not find it there then shut down your PC unplug all the power cables for safety

2.Then open the cabinet of the system, there you will find a heat sink with fan on top there on the mother board you can find you mother board number.
If you don't find it there then look near Ram slots or BIOS you will get it.

Thanks.

How do get to the restore options? f key? ibm m 8147-23u desktop

Dear Sir,

plz use this step for restore

To use System Restore to restore Windows XP to a previous state, follow these steps:
  1. Log on to Windows as Administrator.
  2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
  3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  4. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system restore point in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then click Next.

Note A System Restore message may appear that lists configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.
  5. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then restarts the computer.
  6. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore Restoration Complete page is displayed.
  7. Click OK.
If you successfully restored your computer to a previous state, and the computer is performing as it should be, you are finished.

If the restore process completed successfully but the computer is still not performing as you want, go to the "How to undo a system restoration after you perform a System Restore" section. If you received an error message and the restore process did not finish, or if you cannot run System Restore, go to the "Next Steps" section

Restore vista preinstalled computer with foxconn 45CMX series mother board to factory settings

Sorry you are having trouble
method one
goto Start
Goto programs
goto acessories
goto system tools
goto sytem restore
follow the info on the screen
this will let you pick the date to restore to

method two
Boot to the cd/dvd
when asked tell it to format and install

Method one is much easier
May I ask why you want to go back to factory settings? This would be a last step for me in the process of repair
