I am having the same problem , i have a wireless G plus MIMO usb adapter and i connect via satellite connection and ip is assigned by DHCP , very frequently I get disconnected and nothing would other wise indicate that i am disconnected other than the belkin wireless network utility. The wireless connection properties indicate i am still connected , until i click the support tab and view the connection status where it then says invalid IP address. This happens intermittently all the time and i have tried to figure out what the problem is but alas i have no answers. Usually 1 or 2 reboots will remedy the problem but if anyone has an answer for this i would be eternally grateful.

What is the model of the wireless router you have?

It is possible that your wireless network requires a network key.

I have seen this kind of strange behavior when the adapter is bad. No network detection, or connect but no webpages would ever come up, weird problems. All cleared up by replacing the adapter with an identical one, so it was not because of any settings or software issues. A new adapter is probably needed.

This happens when the wireless network card fails to get an IP address from the wireless router.
To get the router to issue your wireless network card with a new IP address, right click on the wireless card icon on the task bar and click Repair.

Hi,
You are very limited here, but it's not impossible. Have you tried getting to a wired connection temporarily? A long way around would be to reinstall Win XP with a disc that includes the update. A word of warning though, the fix you have described (KB822603) is already included in SP2 on Win XP...SO... while you are connected to the wired internet connection, you may have to get an update for the driver of the netgear wireless wn111 hardware as well.
I hope this helps.

Wireless network connection

Mine always does that when my IP address lease renews but it's an easy fix. You can usually click on the pop up that says limited or no connectivity then in the box that comes up click repair. If you cannot get to that box you can just go to start>control panel>network connections then right click the wireless network connection then left click repair. That usually works for me.
Hope that helps!

Maybe you are getting LIMITED OR NO CONNECTIVITY. This happens when the wireless adapter is able to find a network but the pc cannot get an ip address. One of the reason for that is that your wireless network might be secured and you missed to enter the correct network key when you were asked by the computer. The wireless security is set on the wireless router, SO WHEN YOU SET THE PROFILE ON YOUR WIRELESS ADAPTER, YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE THE WIRELESS SETTINGS FROM YOUR WIRELESS ROUTER. THEY HAVE TO MATCH FOR YOU TO HAVE A COMPLETE CONNECTION.

Installing a 32 bit air link wireless cardbus adapter AWL C3025

First have you tested a wired computer to assure all but the wireless section is configured correctly?

Second have you tested a wireless unencrypted connection to assure it works?

When choosing an encryption strategy did you assure the router and adapter supported the same choice. Generally there is WEP and WPA -- most people prefer WPA now however both the adapter and the router must support it to make it a viable choice.

To provide further assistance please check the model number of the router and provide either the manufacturer and model for the wireless adapter or the computer with a built-in wireless adapter you are attempting to connect.
