There is the problem, i build computers and many new motherboards integrated sound chips will not work with XP. Typically the "azalia" sound chip only works with vista. Two ways round this are:
download windows xp service pack 1 from ms website and install it, then the sound chip will/may work. i have had some success with this. the other option which i tend to go for as it is easier quicker, cheaper, disable on board sound chip, plug in a pci slot fitting sound card, job done

Brand new, has never worked, fans run, first time installed ran the I Will cd that went fine then nothing

Hi ;) Sound like you got a bad driver file loaded can you go in in safe mode or when the computer first starts up in WindowsXP hold down the F8 key to go to the startup list and pick VGA mode and that will load with default video drivers.

SOUND CARD DRIVER FOR INTEL P4 2.4 GHZ

Hello someone_sanj
  1. your motherboard has a packaged CD containing all the drivers needed. after installation of OS (operating system), put the driver CD in your CDROM/DVDROM device. The CD should autorun itself, if not then explore the CD then find "Setup". double click it. if prompted with menus, select best one relating to "Audio"...restart computer after installation and play sound file formats.
Here's a link about how to use the system restore utility on Windows XP:

Here's a link about how to use system restore from Windows Vista:

Here's the easy way to get or update your sound drivers:
You could try to use this driver scanning tool, which scans the computer for needed drivers and has an option to automatically retrieve them for you.

You can download this free tool from here: http://xpdrivers.com/index.cfm

After you have downloaded the above file, double-click on it and follow the simple steps to install it. Then, when it asks if you want to run it, just answer yes. This is easier than manually searching, downloading and installing the drivers.

If none of the above methods worked PLEASE go to near computer shop.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
Pankaj

I can't play any audio and video files

Is this new system? Make sure everything is sound in device manager. If it's not get latest drivers from manufactures website. If everything seems fine and this is new system you probably need to get "codecs". If system is running Windows XP try "nimo codec pack" or "xp codec pack" just google it, download install. restart your computer and everything should be fine. For other operation systems you need to do a little research on google. "video sound codecs Windows Vista" for example. Good Luck!

Ms-7061 msi motherboard will not install win xp with sata drive

The problem is that your version of XP does not have SATA drivers and therefore does not recognise your new drive. Vista does. If you Google the problem you will find many solutions on how to rectify the situation. Basically, you have to make a floppy disc with the correct drivers for your Motherboard's hard drive controller. Then, when you launch your Windows XP installer, it will ask you a question about needing to install 3rd party drivers. Yes is your answer. Tap F6 to ensure that the installer doesn't skip.Insert the floppy disc and then after the drivers are loaded, the installation will proceded normally. The other alternative is to leave your existing XP installation in place and add the new disc. Later you can clone your old disc onto the new drive and then remove your original disc.

AUDIO DRIVERS

If your drivers are from trusted source just click ok continue when the windows signing for drivers pop up window appear.

Now if you click ok and then the system fails to load and then give you a blue error screen, its caused by either
  1. The hardware or its drivers cause conkflict to the system, because your drivers are not from a source you can trust and they are not in compliance with windows OS features and as a result can not run in a windows OS. So get a fresh copy of the drivers from a trusted source preferably the product manufacturer
  2. The hardware itself is faulty and on installing to XP it causes a conflict in which case you can try the Sound card on a different PC and see if it runs, otherwise you need to replace it.
  3. (Assuming XP has finished loading the OS) Sometimes XP fails to unistall the previous drivers, if this is that case goto the device manager (windows icon >right click > properties >hardware > device manager) select ypur current sound card unistall the driver that is there and then restart your machine and load the new drivers again
