Question about EliteGroup ECS GeForce6100SM-M (1.0) Socket AM2/ MCP61S/ SATA2/ A&V&L/ MATX Motherboard
Vista was on this system had problems purchased XP everythinjg runs fine try to install drivers says they are there, when you pull up divice manager it says No Audio Found please help cannot find thisa problem anywhere
There is the problem, i build computers and many new motherboards integrated sound chips will not work with XP. Typically the "azalia" sound chip only works with vista. Two ways round this are:
download windows xp service pack 1 from ms website and install it, then the sound chip will/may work. i have had some success with this. the other option which i tend to go for as it is easier quicker, cheaper, disable on board sound chip, plug in a pci slot fitting sound card, job done
