The root cause of this problem might be your battery, for starters try this:
1.Unplug the battery and the power cord2. press and hold the power button for 15 secs3. then plug in the power cord, but not the battery4. press the power key, and see if it lights up
if this dose not work, and lets hope it does, then I consider getting it checked out bye a technician. : )

can you plug in another monitor to the video plug on the side of your laptop?

if the monitor works but your laptop screen stays dark your laptop screen needs to be replaced .

If the monitor is also dark then the LCD screen is ok but the inverter needs to be replaced

LG W2261 VP HDMI problem, 1920:1080 doesnt fit right, there is 2cm dark screen at the edge of the display Got drivers installed for analog -vga and digital -hdmi Tried the buttons on monitor...doesnt...

This problem seem to be the LCD screen have dead pixels or a bruise spots on the LCD screen itself that why you have dark spot or spots on the LCD Screen.This problems can't be repair because this problems doesn't causes by the electronic circuit boards.Tried move the monitor as an angles to the right or to the left might help some lessen the dark spot on the LCD screen that all you could do.If this problems is a very dard bruised spot will not help all or if it is dead pixels on the LCD screen itself.

I have a Tosh Regza lcd just over a year old and have a dark almost like a tide mark at the bottom of the screen any suggestions?

Connect your LCD screen to a different computer and check if the dark tide mark still present. If you still see the dark tide mark, your LCD screen is malfunctioning. The pixel can be dead. Contact your vendor for warranty.

hi, usually you can correct this issue with only a few system checks, dark streaks can be caused by damaged pixels on the screen, in which case you need to replace the TV.

Inspect where the dark streaks are on the television. If the streaks occur at the same place on the top and bottom of the screen, they are due to the formatting of a movie or television show you are watching. This is normal. Also, if the streaks appear on the left and right of the screen, they are due to the show being filmed in full-screen instead of wide-screen. This also is normal.

Change the input setting so you are viewing the contents of a different device. If the dark streaks are gone, you know they are due to the device connected to it. However, if the dark streaks remains no matter what input the TV is connected to, the problem lies with the television.

Inspect the cable connection. Oftentimes when connecting a computer to an LCD TV, you can have strange dark streaks across the screen. Use a DVI-to-HDMI cable connection when plugging in your computer, then press the "Menu" button on your TV remote, select "Picture" and chose "Square Pixel." See whether the image adjusts and the dark streak goes away.

Contact the manufacturer of your LCD television if the dark streak remains. This streak can be caused by a defect in the television; if the TV is still under warranty, you can have it replaced.
