I have not used the WII for 3 months. Now when I try to use it, first it didn't let the disc go in all the way.

After few tries, it goes in now, but will not read the disc.

I went away for a couple of months, leaving the wii working properly and untouched, and when I get back it has started having trouble reading discs which has got worse and worse since. It can play them sometimes but is very tempermental.

If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide.

Some disks won't work unless your wii has been updated. Discs like Links crossbow and super smash bros. brawl will require your wii to have an update installed. Try loading the game and selecting the disc using the wii remote. When you press the a button, the next screen that shows up should tell you that you will need to have an update performed to proceed. Click ok, and wait until the update finishes. You should then be able to play. If you don't have a disc with the update, you will have to either connect your wii to a wireless network and get an update, or get a lan adapter and connect to a network and get the update.

You can most certainly connect more than one console to a single TV. I would recommend calling a professional service. I own a shop in Central GA. JuiceBox Gaming Systems 1-800-479-4620 give us a call, we will try our best free over the phone to get you going. It is much easier talking through a problem.

You need to replace the laser in your Wii. You can find them online and you shouldn't pay more than $50.00

Loading a disc causes wii to display an error

Hello!

This means you will either need a new laser or a new drive inside of your nintendo Wii.

Quick Fix: You can open up your nintendo Wii and clean the laser.

OR

You can send it in for repair. Its a very quick repair and should be back out to you in a jippy.

Cannot get New Wii to work.

I would take it back and have them replace it. However if that is not an option send it to Nintendo for replacement under the warrenty.
