Question about Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Windows messenger is gone

I accidentally deleted the windows messenger and cant find it. I have tried many attempts to locate it and reinstall it but just cant locate it..not even the icon.
I went to program files and found the folder, but there is not a reinstall there. I tried going to microsoft to download it again, but it says I have to have windows installer 3.1. I dont want to mess anything up,,,so I was afraid of downloading anything. What should I do to get my windows messenger up and running again.

Thanks

    HI Pablocsa,

I copied and pasted the path into my browser and when I did.....a screen pops up saying that file cannot be found make sure the path or internet address is correct. Sounds like the msnmsgr.exe is missing.

Thank you for your fast reply.

I did find a folder in application data called msninstaller. I clicked on that and found msnmsgs folder under msn9components. Could that be it. it is a windows installer package.

Im sorry, Im dumbfounded at this kind of stuff.....but Im still trying to find the actual msnmsgr.exe.

We were notified from incredible mail gold package was about the expire around the first of March,2014. We attempted to renew the gold and were unable to order or reinstall due to apparent problems with your system. We contacted your technical support and they offered to install the program, but would need to access our computer. When we denied the offer the technician terminated the phone call. By yesterday (3/28/2014) I felt the computer problem could have been rectified, and was able to place an order. However, the order indicated there were 2 orders placed and not one. That certainly was not my intention! I simply could not find an area to cancel one (1) of the orders!!! After my attempts to cancel (1) order I checked my bank statement to reveal an order had gone through on 3/12/14 for $19.95 paid by Paypal to Perion Network. Obviously, we now have one order and two duplications! Again, I have made several attempt to locate the correct dept. to cancel the (2) last orders. I even called the technical number asking for assistance or if they knew what route to go to rectify this issue, and I was told "Oh no, they could not help and I should email IncrediMail!" Being upset I contacted Paypal, and they attempted to call Perion Network with the phone number they had on file which they found "not in service". So, on their advisement there has been an Escalated Claim dispute filed. Your system of canceling products has numerous 'holes' in it as this simple matter should not have happened. If you contact me to cancel the (2) placed yesterday, transaction:6AT51421ST276210T and order 5421219 I will notify Paypal that the matter has been resolved. Sally Edsill, 361-758-7854, and you should have our email address on file.

Go to the Control Panel / Click Add or Remove Programs / on the left column find the Add/Remove Windows Components and click on that. You will find Windows Messenger there. All you will have to do is put a check the box.

Well you see if your os files are gone there gone you cant get them back unless you reinstall the os with a windows disc. Plus how do you delete you most important files of your computer ? Im just wondering since even my 80 year old grandmother knows not to go in that deep. Sorry to be mean but youve really pickled yourself here.

In yahoo the chat window text is invisible to me why please solve the problem

  • Download Buddy Spy software through Yahoo!, which will allow you to view users when they are invisible.

  • Open Yahoo! Instant Messenger.

  • Click on your main buddy list.

  • View the user names. When the buddy is offline the name will be gray. When the buddy is invisible, it will read invisible next to their name.

  • Send a message to that user in the message window

I need to know how to download performance monitor extension for DLL or CLR i cant log in to yahoo messenger that crash 2 days ago. and messenger.exe could not load for non windows NT system pls help...

If your Yahoo messenger has crashed then there is nothing to worry. You can reinstall your Yahoo messenger anytime you will not lose anything. All your contacts and profile is stored up on the server. When you sign in the Yahoo messenger you will automatically get all your contacts back.
Uninstall your old Yahoo and install the latest one from the following link.

    http://messenger.yahoo.com/

If you are unable to install this yahoo messenger 10 than what you have to do is repair your Windows by inserting the Windows disk. The computer will give like three options Reinstall upgrade and Repair Windows. Select "Repair".

    Good Luck!

How can I fix my gdi.dll, it needs to be downloaded and my toolbars are gone and cant be accessible, I accidentally erase it

gdi.dll should be located in the i386 directory. You may find a copy of it in a directory called DLLCache under the C:\windows\ directory. Hope that helps.

Messenger 9 for Vista users and XP users with 9, The updated Windows Firewall will not let Messenger download correctly. And is causing 9 and 8.1 users to have problems now.. The only option that might help is turning off the firewall to download and install then turning it back on.Go to control panel, click on windows fire wall, Exceptions tab. make sure messenger is checked,if not listed then add it to the list.then click save.
.If the fire wall still causes problems, then revert back to 8.0 or 7.5 these and all versions of messenger can be found here; http://www.freecreed.com/ymsgr-archive.h...
You need to remove version 9 1st to get another version to work. To remove Messenger version Use Unwise located middle of page of Messenger Folder.. Your contacts are stored online But if you want to save your old messages archives, they are saved on your PC in the messenger file you are about to delete.Go here and copy them to a new folder
    Start>my computer>c:drive>program files>yahoo>messenger>profiles>(your ID)>archive>messages
