No heat, trouble shooting light has continious flash.

Can anyone help? Gas furnace will ignite but won't stay lit. I thought it was the flame sensor, but I replaced it and still not working? Could the be a circuit board problem? If so how can I be sure? Goodman GMPN 120-5

A new filter did not solve problem. The furnace will still not always stay lit on first try. Most of the time it will on its second try.

I had a similar issue. turns out, the plug where all the wires go through from the upper level to the lower level needed cleaning.

I am not familliar with that proticular model but continous flash could be reversed polarity. That is where I would start.

And reversed polarity will make it not able to sense flame.

Try replacing the filter. Low air flow will allow the furnace to overheat. Sounds like a simple answer. Wish I had tried it before buying a flame sensor and controller. Live and learn I guess.

When I try to use my Thermolaire model SU402E, the pilot lights( and stays lit), but the main burner will NOT ignite.. any suggestions as to what could cause this if the pilot stays lit?

Bad igniter? When you 1st try it the gas valve will give enough gas that you would get the burner lit if the igniter was glowing red. If you're desperate you can light the igniter area w/ an aim n flame, but you definitely want to do that w/ caution and crank up your t-stat so the furnace stays on awhile Cuz you'll have to do it again for heat or buy an igniter($40 or so)

Where should the flame blow when janitrol furnace is ignite?Toward firewall?

It sounds like he incorrectly installed the igniter and it may be a huge danger to your home. A incorrectly installed igniter can cause a excess build up of gas and blow back flame or worst blow up your house. Only have a licensed heating and cooling contractor work on your furnace and not a handy man.

My York furnace sometimes doesn't completely ignite

A noisy inducer probably is headed for replacement.

The igniter can produce a healthy glow and still be defective. Mine had to be replaced with a new, improved one.

The thermocouple could be defective even though it seems to open the gas valve when it should.

The heat sensor in the bonnet could be defective. That controls main blower operation.

The heat exchanger could be cracked.

Does a york diamond 80 furnace have a pilot light?

There is a diagnostic code flashed from a window in front panel of the furnace. What is it? From your description, I would bet on the ignitor as faulty. The vidoe shows this repair. Don't remove elements and sand them as this fixer did. it is destructive in many cases. York Diamond 80 furnace troubleshooting won start won light flame sensor...

Pilot light will stay lit Lennox G8D2-82

You may need to replace the Thermocoupler. It screws into the gas regulator and the sensor end is set in the flame of the pilot light. You can get one at any appliance parts store. The Thermocoupler simply feels the heat of the pilot light and sends a very small amount of voltage to the gas switch that opens when your thermostat calls for heat. If the pilot light isnt lit, no voltage from the sensor and no gas can be released by the regulator.
Anyone can replace one. Just find the tip that sits in the the pilot flame when you try to ignite the pilot light. Follow it down to the regulator and unscrew it. There is no gas involved. It is Ultra Low Voltage. No danger.
Be sure to turn off the power to the unit before you begin removal. Take it to the parts store along with your furnace brand and model number. If you see any identifiers on the regulator, note them and take them with. When you replace it be sure to have the sensor end up in the flame of the pilot.

There is a vacuum sensor on most units tied from the exhaust gas fan to the sensor. Does the unit try to start? If the unit's exhaust fails to pull the switch it will turn off after about 30-45 sec after starting. "IT" thinks it's not exhausting and stops to keep from overheating. Do you have this exhaust fan and rubber hose to sensor? Can you see if that fan is turning on start?
