Well , does ur pda ever fall? or get into water?

cause it might cause ur LCD screeen to be broken, but if ur pda ever got into water, ur component inside might be broken.

If one of above occured, u have to bring it to technician, unless you know how to replace a LCD or the other component.

if none of above occured, then u have a software problem, you need to flash it (put a fresh software in it), which you had to bring it to technician too, but it might cost much little than if you had problem on the LCD and component.

How do I remove & replace screen on Xda orbit.

I used a T6 Torx screwdriver, a piece of flat strong plastic (other people have suggested old credit cards), and a small flathead screwdriver (but not essential).

1) After taking the battery out I also removed the SIM card, the memory card, and the stylus
2) This picture shows the first screws to remove (circled in red), by using the torx
gif.gif Start.JPG ( 38.52K ) Number of downloads: 758

3) I then levered the hole the stylus fits into, by prising up with the end of the stylus (to remove the back cover)
gif.gif Stylus_clip.JPG ( 35.89K ) Number of downloads: 591

4) Using the plastic tool I slid it around the edge, being careful not to put to much force into it to remove the rest of the clips around the back cover.
This is a picture of the back cover off with the locations of the clips (note the camera hole for orientation)
gif.gif Backcover.JPG ( 37.45K ) Number of downloads: 546

5) I then removed the next set of screws (with the torx again)
gif.gif Backcover_off.JPG ( 62.24K ) Number of downloads: 626

6) I then removed the middle cover by prising against the front (the front was connected to the circuit), I found if it didn't want to release in one direction, then I would tackle it from the other way round
gif.gif Middle.JPG ( 43.59K ) Number of downloads: 675

7) Then to prise off the front cover was straight forward by using the flathead to lever the two clips in red
gif.gif Front_on.JPG ( 65.9K ) Number of downloads: 735

** The connector circled in yellow is for the front button set, and I didn't need to remove this to change the screen **
8) I then removed the flexi circuit connecting the screen (circled in blue) - I did tear mine, but that is fine for me as the screen was broken anyway, so if I was to do it again I would take more care
This shows the front cover with the clips circled
gif.gif Front_XDA_Orbit.jpg ( 42.61K ) Number of downloads: 526

9) The screen was held on with two strips of sticky tape, and I just used the flathead to prise it away

Connecting the new screen back was straight forward, as was putting the phone back together once I knew where the clips were. I did need to make sure the volume button was lined up with the connection on the circuit however.

If the links don't work go here

Hope it helped.

Friend, try to replace the battery. If it doesn't work try to press firmly the LCD connection interface underneath the screen because such unit has lossen connection.use T6 screwdriver to open the unit then slowly firmly press the LCD connector on the interface. Such thing will solve the problem. good luck

Palm Centro locked

If you forget the password, the only way to get back in is to perform a "hard reset." Performing a hard reset causes you to loose all data on your phone unfortunately (numbers, texts, and all). Hopefully you've sync-ed up your data on your computer recently.

To perform a hard reset, do the following:
1 - Remove the battery cover.
2 - Take out the battery.
3 - Put the battery back in. An orange Palm logo will appear on your screen.
4 - While the logo is showing, press & hold the Power/End button until a black status bar appears on the screen, fills completely, and then goes away. Then you can stop pressing the button.
5 - Next on your screen will be a prompt to erase all data. Press up to say Yes.
6 - Next select your language and you have an empty phone to start a new. If you've previously sync-ed up your data, you can sync up now and add it all back.

Good luck!
