Do a nozzle check, print head alignment and deep cleaning. Make sure all rollers are cleaned. Also ensure that you are using only original Canon cartridges and that you have selected the correct paper type in the printer properties box.

Finally try a driver re installation. Uninstall first through control panel, reboot your PC, and reinstall the driver. The latest driver and software can be found here.

Hope that helps!

Sir try calibrating your printer by using the calibration utility. it should be included on the cd provided
on your printer. install it on your computer and use that utility to correct the color of your printer when printing.

thank you for using fixya

Remove the cartridge from the printer and check whether the cartridges r proper or leaking.

if the cartridges r proper then .give a head cleaning command from your pc 3-4 times .this head cleaning procedure will clean all the dirt from the printer internally to make the copies clear.

as u said blurry it could also happen if the cartridges r dry or near to end of the ink.replace the cartridges if they r empty.

Can you do macs? how do i print duplex with this printer, duplex is suported by my mac

The Canon-supplied MP530 driver doesn't have duplex printing as a print option. Mac OS 10.5 has Gutenprint drivers built-in for a number of popular printers, including the Canon MP500 which is a near match for the MP530 and includes the two-sided option for printing.

With the MP530 plugged into your Mac (or, presumably, available over the network) go to the Add Printer wizard ( System Preferences > Print & Fax > + ). Pick MP530, name the printer something like "MP530 Gutenprint" and under "Print Using:" choose "Select a driver to use...", select "Canon PIXMA MP500 - Gutenprint v5.1.3" and then Add the printer.

The MP500 Gutenprint driver isn't a perfect substitute for the MP530 one, however, so you should do this in addition to installing the proper MP530 driver from the Canon website and adding the printer using that driver with a name like just "MP530" or "MP530 Canon". In a year or two of using the Gutenprint driver I've only once had a print job that wouldn't render correctly (some missing lines on the printout), and for that one time I had to switch to the Canon-supplied driver to get it to work. All the other times I find it very convenient to have two-sided printing available as an option.

The two sided printing isn't particularly fast, but it's a whole lot more convenient than manually printing the odd pages and then the even pages.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

HOW CAN I PPRINT PHOTOS THAT ARE TRURER TO THE DIGITAL PICTURE ON THE MONITER? IS THERE ADJUSTMENTS THAT I CAN MAKE?

If you're using a good photo software there are many adjustments. I use Canon printing software, and Photo Gallery that you can get with Windows Vista. Most all have a place to adjust contrast brightness, color, hue, and even cropping and enlarging. In control panel, printer properties, printing preferences you can adjust all of these in there.

Canon PIXMA 530 grinds away

I had a persistant grinding noise about 30 seconds after the printer finished printing. It's been going on about 2 months. I did one thing which seemed to work. So try opening the cover on the back of the machine by lifting upward on the gray lever in the middle of the back of the machine. Leave this cover open during and after printing. The grinding noise went away.

Use scaled printing (Mac OS X) Instructions to use scaled printing. You can manually select the scaling ratio you wish to use to print images and documents. scaling_sample.jpg Note: The Scaled Printing function is not available when Borderless Printing is selected (OS X.version 10.2.1 or higher).
  1. Open the Page Setup dialog box.

  2. Specify the Scaled Printing settings.

Printing a book from Word using duplex printing

In the Printing Preferences window, on the Page Setup tab, you have already selected Duplex Printing and Automatic. If your book is to be bound on the long side, you should have 'Long-side stapling . . ' selected in the window below that.

If that is what you have selected and the pages are printing wrong, try the 'Short-side stapling . . .' option.

Cannon Printer

Unplug usb .... Delete/unistall old driver .... download latest driver from www.canon.com .....install it .... insert usb when prompted

No free tec support, you could try ringing who ever you bought it from or local canon dealer and you may strike a friendly, but warranty is for printer malfuntion and you on the other hand seem to be having software/driver issue.

hope this helps you

Two-sided printing

On a PC...
- Ctrl + p to print
- Choose the Canon MP530 if it's not already selected
- Click Properties button
- Page Setup tab
- Select Duplex Printing

My paper always gets jammed, so I always uncheck the Automatic checkbox. Hopefully you won't have to do that.

Good luck.
