Question about Cuisinart Coffeemakers

4 Answers

COD 4000 coffemaker is not brewing a full pot.

My coffemaker stops brewing after 1 or 2 cups. It will not brew a full pot at a time. I have to keep turning it off and on to finally get enought coffee and it still doesn't make a full 12 cups. I have tried cleaning it with a decalification cleaner as well as a vinegar and water solution, but if it won't brew the whole pot it can't fully clean it. I'm about ready to throw it out the door!

I have the same problem, but mine is a 10 cup coffee maker. Can anyone help?

I have tried it both ways , pushing the 1-4 cup button and not , and it still won't work. Maybe the program is messed up.

I have the same issue. I will attempt to make a full pot (10 cups) of coffee and it will brew only 1-2 cups then shut off. I try to turn the grinder off and restart the coffee pot then it will **** 1-2 more cups of water through the coffee grinds...this continues until the 10 cups of coffee is finally brewed! I am willing to try anything to fix my coffee pot. Please help!

I have the 10 cup COD coffeemaker and have been experiencing the same shut off problem during what should be one full brewing cycle. Also, the last time I cleaned it with decal powder (of course, I mixed it with water to get the correct solution), something happened to the programing and now I have to push the 1-4 cup option to get it to brew a whole 10 cup pot. If I don't push that option, I get exactly 4 cups. It's backwards. When I got online to research this issue I only typed in "coffee maker stops brewing during cycle" on the search engine window and the first link I got was this one about the COD 4000. Is this coffeemaker a dud?

This is a design problem on all of these Grind and Brew Pots. The problem lies in lower bulb which touches the top of the carafe. The bulb does not get fully pushed in, allowing the water to drain at a sufficient rate. The quickest fix is to lift the carafe approx. 1/8". I threw a 2 1/2" Diameter washer which i purchased at Lowes (appox. 1/8" thick) into the recess where the carafe stands. By doing this I boosted the carafe up, which pressed the bulb all the way in, which now lets the water drain through the coffee and filter quicker, which means no more overflows... Problem solved.

I have also had a problem with the twelve cup version of this coffee maker. After a little over a year of use, the water ball would stick occasionally, and then, suddenly, it was taking about 45 minutes for the brew cycle to even begin. I thought the heating element was failing. Then I discovered that the manufacturer recommends doing a cleaning cycle after every thirty coffee cycles - a bit more often then my practice. A double cleaning and rinsing (with two store bought brands of cleaner) actually corrected the problem... Hope this is all that is wrong in your case.

You do realise that this coffee maker is a programmable appliance?
Are you pushing the 1-4 button by mistake?

Hello. I just talked to Cuisinart and they recomended running a solution of 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water through the brew cycle, then a full pot of plain water to rinse, to remove hard water deposits. The phone # to Cuisinart is 1-800-726-0190. I hope all works out for you.

Coffeemaker will not brew a full pot

Try cleaning it with pure vinegar. 3-4 times just keep running it through the machine.

Coffee doesn't brew full pot

Run 2 cups distilled white vinegar and 2 cups water through the system - brew it like it was regular coffee. Then run plain water through the coffemaker to rinse the vinegar out and make sure the decalcification was successful. Repeat as needed. Don't forget to remove the charcoal water filters first.

Cuisinart DCC2000 quits brewing after 1or 2 cups

Finally, I got my coffee pot to run through without stopping several times. To fix it I had to run vinegar through eight times! Never before has it taken so many cycles to clean out a pot. It is still spluttering a bit so today I am going to get more vinegar or maybe even CLR and run it through a few more times.

I have the same problem with the exact same coffee maker I have tried pushing the 1-4 cups button. That worked for a couple weeks, now it is back to only brewing half the water in reservoir whether I push the 1-4 button or not. It is very annoying.

I have a automatic grind and brew. It will only brew a full pot of coffee if I turn it on four cups. That wasn't to bad but now Ihave to unplug it to get it to come on.

Unplug for 20 minutes to fully reset, then:

Does not brew a full pot anymore.

I had the exact same problem with my machine making 1 cup at a time.

Here is the solution:

1. make solution of 1 part vinegar & 2 parts water.

2. pour solution into resivoir and set for 2 hours

3. run solution through machine (yes, you will have to stand there and keep pushing the buttons).

4. take same solution (now very hot) and run it through machine 5 or 6 times

5. make fresh solution and continue process
