Make and model of the car? It's rather simple. Many German and French cars have the permanent and the accessories power cables switched.Switch them back from the stereo's connector's cables.(The red to yellow and the yellow to red).First it would be a good idea to check that out with a voltmeter.

When I turn on the radio the display reads WAIT 2hr ??? I have the radio code but it will not activate....

Hi,

When this happens you must leave the radio constantly powered on and the power must be uninterrupted or the wait will start all over again.

For this reason the key must be turned in the ignition to Accessories power on - otherwise the radio may shut itself off before the wait is expired.

Remember to leave the car in a safe place as key must be turned in ignition as described.

When wait period is over - code can be entered. Make sure you have the right code!

Hope it helps. Thanks for using FixYa

You may have to wait up to 4 hours (or even more) depending how many wrong codes have already been tried so leave the car in a safe place as key must be in ignition.

Wen I set stations on the radio they are not remembered wen the engine is turned off. I10 60 plate. Radio pa710rds

You need to make sure the yellow wire is going to a constant power source. That is a source that still has 12v going to it when the key is turned off. The yellow wire controls the memory for the clock and preset stations.

Display doesn't work

THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT POWER WIRES CONNECTING THIS PLAYER TO 12 VOLTS FROM YOUR CAR ... ONE WIRE MAKES THE UNIT WORK WHEN THE KEY IN YOUR IGNITION IS SWITCHED ON AND ANOTHER THAT HAS 12 VOLTS ALL THE TIME TO KEEP THE RADIO CHANNELS PROGRAMMED AND SUPPLIES MAIN POWER TO THE UNIT , MY GUESS IS
THE WIRE THAT CONNECTS TO IGNITION HAS COME APART AND THIS LEAVES YOU WITH
NO DISPLAY ...... CHECK IT ........

It sounds like the 12v battery lead has an issue and thats why they tied them in together. Once you resolve that issue and re-wire properly you should be set.

Radio will not shut off when key is removed

Some newer cars leave the radio on after the key is removed for a preconfigured period of time. If the radio shuts off when the door is opened, this is normal activity.

If the radio is aftermarket and was recently installed, the power for the unit was pulled from an always-on source, instead of an ignition switched source. Changing the power lead to a circuit that is switched with the key will fix it.

I have Phillips car 400 radio, but have for forgot how nto input the code sequince please coulde you tell me how to put it in.+

Hi,

Switch on the cars ignition then switch on the radio whilst holding down the AS button at the same time. A number indicating how many code tries you have left, followed by 4 dashes should then be displayed (e.g.10 - - - -)

Enter the code using keys 1-4 and finally press and hold the AS key to "enter" the code,

The radio will now operate.

Thenks for using FixYa. Please remember to leave a vote for the solution.

Auto radio

Turn the power off on the radio with the Keys in ignition and turned on. Press the set button. Use the search buttons to set the hours or minutes. It might be another button set.
