Do not use the cd for the initial driver install remove them if you already installed them, download the latest driver first to your hard drive from here http://us.creative.com/ Go to support and find the audio card you have. Once you have the updated driver info ready, then go to the device manager and find the creative audio driver, it should have an exclamation point showing that it requres attention. Right click and select update driver, when asked by windows to install it, choose the driver you downloaded from Creative. Also, make sure the default sound card is sound blaster using the control panel, sounds and audio devices, audio tab.
