this could be a number of faults, so here are some troubleshooting tips

1, set the machine off on spin, do you hear a whirring sound as well as the drain pump?

if you do then it's probably the drive belt that has snapped or came off the motor.

2, set the machine off on spin, does only the drain pump make a noise?

if it does then there's a good chance its the motor brushes are worn down and need replaced, to check you will need to tilt the machine back and the motor will be right in front of you, using a 5.5mm socket remove the two holding screws from the brushes (usually black plastic rectangles on either side of motor) and the wire, the carbon inside the plastic cover should ideally be 10mm +
hope this helps

The stainless steel drum has broken away inside my creda excel 1200

This means that the drum support has collapsed due to corrosion.
It entails a complete strip down of washer, and replacing the drum shaft, and possibly new drum bearings and shaft seal also.
It is quite an involved repair, and not to be undertaken lightly.
If the washer is more than 5 years old, it would be more eonomical to replace it with a new washer.

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius WF541 that has started making ean extremely loud noise when on spin. The machine remains still, but sounds like a jet engine. The drum makes an awful noise when I turn it...

maybe it the pulley tensioner came up the back of the machine and check if the belt is tight...if not get the spanner out retention the pulley arm and retighten.

Washing machine motor not turning

what this indicate is that there have been a power disconnection from power supply on the jet string connected to the drum (drum controller)

what you will have to do to solve this problem is to unscrew the the washer then trace the wire down to the jet it is round in shape at the back of the washer
please rate this
thank you

Washing machine is making noise even when drum isn't moving. Constant noise as if something is stuck inside.

the problem is from the jet stream that is the(rotor) which generate force on the drum to move on to is position it means that is weak it need to be replace or service
to service it you will have to unscrew the washer and adjust the jet back to is position connected to the drum then clean any form of dirt around it

but if you need to get another one apply online on at full of surprises like Washing machine Electric Cooktops · Gas Cooktops. Microwaves ... Sales centres are located in. Toronto and London, Canada.

good luck and thanks for using fixya.

Whirlpool cabrio washer spin sounds like a jet now

i am afraid that the noise is ur bearings, give the drum a turn by hand with no washing in it and you will hear and feel a rumble. Dependant on type of washer you can replace the bearing, but sometimes the cost i am afraid is rather high and may be worth purchasing a new appliance.

I hope this helps

Servis washing machine m6011 drum does not turn during cycle

Sometimes hard water build up inside the washer transmission will cause the drum not to spin. Might have to replace. Easy way to check is in the back of the unit shut off water take the hoses off and see if there is any blockage there. If so it will mean no water flow got to the machine and might have gotten into the transmission operation to cause your problem.

I need to replace the bearing in an AEG Lavamat 1450. I've taken the back off the machine, but there isn't a traditional "spider", just a round wheel type thing attached with an Allen bolt. Can I have some...

Hi there.....unless your exerienced in this advise you to seek expert help...the drive wheel securing bolt is of the torx type and requires a secial torx key to remove will find that the outter drum has a series of torx headed screws around it which have to be removed and then the drum split...only after this has been completed and the inner drum removed will you have access to.the bearings.......

Fisher and Paykel GW708F Screaming like a jet engine on spin!

Hi there

Yea if the machine sounds like a train going through the middle of your house when its on spin it will most definately by your seals and bearings, an easy way to check is lean the machine back onto something and look underneath if the main seal is leaking and the bearings are run there will be rusty looking residue on the motor rotor(the round thing in the middle of the drum), seals and bearings are fairly expensive to replace About $350NZD if no shaft is needed and up to $500NZD if a replacement shaft is needed.

I hope this helps you out.
