Well, is it a recycled cartridge or a new one? If it is recycledit's possible that the cip if it has one must be replaced! If the cartridge is the original one/it hasn't been changed before you may have a conatact problem with one of the sensors!

Change toner

Step 1 Check the top of your Canon fax/copy machine to see if your specific model has a protruding extension piece from the plastic delivery tray. Push the extension piece down if one is present on your model.
Step 2
Grip the bottom edge of the paper delivery tray at the front of the machine. Lift the tray upward to reveal the rectangular, plastic toner cartridge inside the machine.

Display fax gives a warning "received in memory" we also have a warning "prepare black toner" We can not print the fax! What can we do?

Generally the "received in memory" message is a result of the machines inability to print. I.E. It received a fax, attempted to print it, failed, and then stored it in memory to print once the issue has been corrected.

The Prepare Black Toner error is likely directly related. If the toner cartridge is empty, inserted incorrectly, or damaged it could be causing this error. Try reseating the cartridge by removing and reinserting. If that doesn't clear the error try replacing it with a new Canon branded cartridge.

As soon as you correct the printing issue the stored faxes will print.

How to insert a cartridge in canon printer 4320d ?..

Hold the front side of the operation panel with your hands.
Lift the scanning platform (A) until it is locked. (You will hear an audible "click.")

Hold the grip (A) on the right front side of the toner cover.

Take out the new toner cartridge from the protective bag.

Do not open the drum protective shutter (A).
Save the protective bag. You may need it later when you remove the toner cartridge from the machine.

Gently rock the toner cartridge several times to evenly distribute toner inside.

Place the toner cartridge on a flat surface and pull the seal completely out.
If toner is adhered on the removed seal, be careful that your hands or clothes do not get dirty from touching the toner.

Do not pull the seal out at an angle.

Hold the toner cartridge by its handle (A).
  • Do not open the drum protective shutter on the toner cartridge. Print quality may deteriorate if the drum surface is exposed to light or is damaged.
Always hold the toner cartridge by its handle
Insert the toner cartridge so that the protrusion (A) on the right side of the toner cartridge fits into the guide (B) located on the right side of the machine and slide it down parallel to the guide.
Push the toner cartridge to make sure it is properly set in the machine.
Hold the grip (A) on the right front side of the toner cover.
Close the toner cover.

Lower the scanning platform.
If you cannot close the toner cover, do not force it to close. Open the cover and make sure the toner cartridge is properly set in the machine.
Be careful not to get your fingers caught.
