Re: problem in opening from adobe reader 7.0
WELL, FOR ONE THING, ADOBE 7.0 IS A VERY OLD PROGRAM SINCE ADOBE HAS RELEASED ADOBE 9.0. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU UPGRADE YOUR SOFTWARE TO THE LATEST VERSION OF ADOBE AND SEE IF THIS DOESN'T SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN BY " AN ATTACHMENT FROM OUTLOOK WEB ACCESS " IF YOU COULD EXPLAIN THIS BETTER I MIGHT HAVE ADDITIONAL IMFORMATION. PLEASE REPLY TO: ARCLIGHT1217. THANKS!

one thing you can try if you have an hotmail or gmail account, its to load the pdf to your online drive, and then go to your account, go to the same folder and open it selecting read on-line (on-line readers are always up to date !) if that way it doesn't work too, your file is damaged !

This error is due to an issue with Adobe Acrobat viewing PDF files in a web browser.
Try the following:
1. Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools -> Internet Options and on
the General tab to erase all temporary files, cookies and history data.
2. Under Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options, on the
General tab click on Settings and make sure you select the option
“Automatically” for checking for newer versions of the stored pages.
Then attempt to open the PDC file again.
3. If solutions 1 and 2 do not work then uninstall Adobe Acrobat, then reinstall it again.
It seems that Acrobat 6 is more prone to this error so upgrading to Acrobat 7 may solve the problem.

Try checking the file association. Open the Control Panel, Click on Folder Options, Select the File Types tab, Scroll down to locate the PDF extension, Select the PDF extension, Look below in the Details for PDF extension and select Change, locate and select Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader, then make sure there is a check mark in the "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file", Click on OK and then close.

Gem7 again, I just posted my last comment about 15 minutes ago but thought I should say I also just tried to install the 7.0.9 version as recommended on the Adobe website because of the security problem facing the old version I have (7.0.8). It came up with a message saying "Error 1714. The older version of Adobe Reader 7.0.9 cannot be removed contact your technical support group." Same as what I said happened in my last post when I tried upgrading to the 8.1.2 version! The last time I used Adobe according to my control panel was in 15/5/2006, so almost 2 years ago now since I've had this problem so I can't restore my system to an earlier date because I haven't saved any system restore points prior to this date. I don't know what else to try, can anyone please help? Thanks Gem.
