You can try to pull the lens back into its socket, or replace the lens.

Picture not focused at 12x zoom

It's probably something to do with a lag or jam on your shutterspeed. so when you hit the button, and move you get a little blur. If its not this you might need to have your lens cleaned inside and out due to the camera zooms and catches the blurs on the lens after zooming so far in. I would recommend taking it to your local camera shop for adjustments and cleaning.

Lack of focus at 20" on zoom

Zoomed fully in, the minimum focus is about 20 inches. If you want to focus closer, you must zoom out. See page 72 of this manual.

The Zoom in and out has stuck on the camera. Would that be whats causing the pictures to be blurry?

The focus is not guided by the tele/zoom and irrespecctive of it the camera must focus sharply.
If the zoom is not working( auto) then it is also possible that the servo to control the focus( motor drive) is also not working.
Hence your picture stands off focus.
Remove battery and replace gently tapping the lens hood to see if therer is any mechanical jamming of the drive.
If there is not help then you might need to open the camera but my advice is to take help to open and look. Check first for the motor /motor drive to be intact , checck voltage to motor on triggering of the key, if voltage is present motor mechanism needs a reset. If not the control circuit is faulty.

Compact digital camera; zoom blur images. what am I doingwrong?

You may be doing nothing wrong, however the camera is either having trouble with the focusing circuitry/lens assembly, or you're not holding the camera still enough, with a solid focusing object (not likely, but happens). I suspect that some aspect of the focusing circuitry (while zoomed) isn't functioning. While that can be a microprocessor problem, it's rare and not likely. Most likely there is debris (dust, sand) in the lens assembly, and needs to be blown out with compressed air. If that doesn't work, you can try to zoom, then hold the camera with the lens facing up, and bump it gently with the palm of the hand, on an area without switches. The focusing ring inside the lens assembly is sometimes stuck, or jammed by debris, and can be freed by compressed air. Bumping the camera tries to reseat the focusing ring, so that it works correctly, from the cpu signals, and focusing detector. If these suggestions don't work, it will have to be serviced. Make sure you get an estimate first- the cost of repair often exceeds replacement cost of a new camera, on sale. Good luck!

My Finepix 12.0 megapixels camera is having a problem

The focus mechanism is jammed inside the lens. The lens will not retract if any of the slide rings inside the lens are out of alignment.
Read my tips page on my profile under "the only way I know how" for focus, zoom error.
If you can't free it from the out side then you have to open it up and reset it.
my email is on my tips page if I can be of any more help

Blury Display on FE140

It sounds like your lens's focus element is stuck. Given the events you describe it is possible that a grain of sand has worked its way into the focus motor's gearing and jammed it up. Normally the small motor moves the focus optic in and out to achieve proper focus, if its movement is limited or completely jammed you will experience blurry pictures. The camera will have to be disassembled and the sand cleaned out to restore normal function. There are repair providers you can find online who can work on your camera.
