PSP won't recognize the games on memory stick

I have a 4GB memory stick with 4 games on it.

It has been working fine until i completed the last major software update for it. All of a sudden the games were no longer being read on the PSP. The ISO files were still shown on the memory card (i checked this on my computer), but for some reason the PSP just says no games present.

I then removed the games and formatted the memory card and then put the games back on there, but this still does not work.

Please help??

Earlier Your PSP was installed with Custom Firmware. Thats why you were able to play Backup ISO's from Memory Stick. You have now updated your firmware to Original SONY firmware  and SONY wont allow you to run Backup ISO's from Memory Stick.
If you want to play Backup ISO's again you need to install Custom Firmware

Hi My PSP's orange ligth won't turn off just always lightning when turn on my psp it's lightning with green light

Hi khangal74,
If you dont have issues playing your usual psp games, you dont have to worry about the orange light. That is normal. It means that your PSP is saving the data to your memory stick. Also make sure that your WLan switch is turned off ( that also causes a blinking orange light ). However, if you are experiencing a flickering orange light and your screen remains black ( and you cannot play any games), it means that your PSP is having issues reading you memory card.
Do these:
Remove the memory card and turn your PSP on without the memory card (it should turn on with no problems) Now, slowly re-insert your Memory stick. (You may need to do this several times until your PSP recognizes your memory card) If this still does not work, your Memory stick is busted or may be infected with a virus and therefore needs to be replaced.
Wishing you with positive results. All the best to you.

PSP can't read my memory stick and LAN light is flashing.

hi
is it just the one movie that wont play or have you tried music and game saves?
a few things to check
1 is the memory card showing magic gate supported
2 check if the card shows 15.?gb with nothing on it
3 try loading the card with 15gb of music and pictures

i bought a 16gb pro duo memory card from ebay that was a 4gb card showing in the psp as 15.4gb but corrupted every thing after 4gb.
if you also find that the card is only taking between 4-8gb of data contact ebay as this is likely a fake card.

Misfunctioning 4GB memory stick pro duo

Are you formatting it with your computer or PSP?

  1. Push the little HOME button on the bottom left of the face of the unit.
  2. Use the arrow keys to move to the SETTINGS area, then move the up and down keys until you get to System Settings.
  3. Once you are there, click on the "X" button and scroll up and down as needed to find Format Memory Stick. Click on "X" again to select that option.
  4. The Sony PSP will now confirm that you want to reformat the memory stick (which removes every file and game save thereon, of course): choose yes and it'll format in just a few seconds.
It that doesn't work - try formatting it with your computer.

Tony Hawks Underground 2 Remix for PSP. Save problem

The problem is that THUG2 is too stupid to recognize a memory stick with more than 2gb space on it, so put stuff on your memstick until it's under 2gb. It worked for my 4gb memstick.

Opening a 4 gb games

1) First of all you check that you had copied games in the same folder structure of 4gb memory card as it was in 2gb memory card. 2) If you are using the top red strip memory card as shown in image it is the reason for not opening the downloaded games on the 4gb memory card. you can try the other one type which is shown below in the image. this will work fine. Note:In image 2gb is shown as example.
