Question about Panasonic PT-53WX53 53" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
While watching TV the other day, the right half of my TV had the blue shift to the left. I went in to adjust convergence and found that I was only able to adjust the left and center points on the TV and not the 3 points to the far right. The blue just won't go far enough to the right to align now. After some searches on the internet and other writeups here, I am ordering STK392-110 (2) and will try a replace to see if it works. If anyone knows of another reason this could be happening on only the right half, I would love to hear your thoughts. I will post back after the repair and give results.
Make sure you order genuine Sanyo replacements, there are a lot of fakes out there that will short in less than an hour in that unit... You can use stk392-150 or 180's also, same chip-set just greater amp rating. You're replacing Ic's 7001 & 7002...
Use a generous portion of heat sink compound as well and don't let your solder pen sit for any length of time on any one pin. You might also solder a couple of pins and pause to let heat dissipate before continuing...
Best place for ordering those amps is ACME sales in Florida...
Lastly, you might check the ohms rating of the 1w resistors out in front of the amps. Those are your yoke return resistors and change any that are out of value by more than 10%...
