Honeywell thermostat problem

Hello,
I just moved into a house built in 2002 by Ryland homes with a digital Honeywell thermostat. Sometimes, mainly at night, the thermostat will flash the time, and the air will stop. I have to turn press the "mode" button to "off", then back to "heat", for the air to come back on. I think it may be prior programming kicking in becaue it also displays a different temp than what I set. Do you think it is the programming or something else. Where would I get the model # on the device, and how can I learn how to program it?

My thermostat turned off today. We put batteries in it to turn it back on, but the house is 81 degrees and not getting cooler. Its been this way since 3:00pm

Hello, if the screen is blank the thermostat is not receiving power. Sometimes this can be caused by a blocked drain line from your Air conditioner, there is a safety switch in the drain line shuts off power to the thermostat. The drain line must be cleaned so the switch will reset. Sometimes a bad transformer can cause the same problem aswell

If you go to your local home depot, and get a new thermostat, it will come with different diagrams for wiring in the instructions that are pretty easy to understand. I hope this helps.

On my honeywell rth230b thermostat, sometimes when i try to turn on the a/c, the snowflake will just blink and the a/c will not kick on. why does it do that?

They do that sometimes as a timing feature when going from heat setting the to cool setting or vise/versa. It should not do that when the thermostat is off and then you switch it to cool. Make sure the batteries in the thermostat are fresh. And make sure the thermostat is fully seated on the housing. Also check the wires are fully inserted into the connections on the thermostat housing and the wiring is correct.

Home heating and thermostat

It is possible the relay on the zone board is bad, You can test the thermostat if you own a voltage meter. It is possible for the thermostat to display and still be bad.
