String caught in fan of Craftsman 79474 garden leaf blower

A string hanging out of my pocket got caught in the blower blades of my craftsman garden blower. Need to open the casing, but 'screws' need some kind of special tool that I don't recognize.

Thanks

Remove string cap and tighten nut or you will have to hold shaft just above string head with pliers and turn head by hand till tight.

Pull cord will not pull out for model 358.794765 on craftsman blower/vac

you may have blown your engine. try to move the piston up or down when you take off the spark plug. if it does not move you may have broken a piston ring and the piston may be stuck because of the broken ring. you can also try to check the starter string where it is coiled in the spool. it may be just tangle up. remove the casing and check the string off of the engine.

My wife craftsman blower vac had about one third

Yes you can lube it with wd 40 and you will have to tighten the rope up where it is tighter than it was before, this is normally caused by the spring clip slipping out of position and or the holder breaking, check for cracks on the spring latch on the rope holder. You can also shorten the Rope as well to take up the slack. in the rope that way you would bot have to remove the tension er device,

There is a round grille on the bottom of the unit. Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the latch to release it and reveal the vacuum opening. You should have a two-piece intake pipe that will attach to the opening.

The collection bag attaches to the smaller outlet where the blower pipe used to be (unscrew the wing nut to release the blower pipe). The bag clips onto the hooks at the base of the opening.
