Find the program in the Program Files folder. Right click on the program folder and then select delete from the drop down menu. If you get an error message make sure the program is not running. If there's a small icon for the program on the bottom of the screen, click on it to close it first. Then retry the steps above to delete the file.
Right-click on Desktop >Click "Change Desktop Icons">Mark or Unmark the postion of Icons or/and "Allow themes change desktop icons". You can mark "View hidden" and in "Program Data" on Drive C: you can make your own NAME FOLDER and put inside ALL ICONS YOU WANT.Your NAME FOLDER & ICONS , you can see now in "Start".Then UMMARK "Hidden" Box.(If you want)
Assume you are using Windows XP.. Go to My Computer >C Drive (your hard drive icon)>open programmes, find the Internet explorer folder, open it and right click on the "iexplore" icon and create shortcut..it will then prompt you to place the shortcut on the desktop..windows Vista is virtually the same
This just indicates that the dock icon can not find the system
preferences folder, just delete the icon from the dock. Then go to your
applications folder find the system preferences and just drag it onto
the dock that will fix it.
