Question about Pioneer DEH-P3500 CD Player

Buttons do not work on face plate but CD and volume dial do

All I can do is put in a CD and let it play through, I cannot switch tracks or switch to radio, all I can do is adjust the volume. If I take the CD out the head unit powers off, anyone had this problem?

Yes, the same thing happened to me recently. How old is yours? I think I got mine in early 2005. It sounds like Pioneer rigs these things to break down after 3-4 years.

No, this happened instantly. As if the power or a connection to all the buttons all at once was severed. the only thing that works is the volume but that is a rheostat and it must not be tied in with the rest of the controls.

My unit is pretty new. Are you sure that's the only solution? I had heard there was a security code that needs to be put in in order to unlock the system, but I don't know what the code is.

exactly the same issue. the only way to turn it on is to put a cd in and you can't even switch tracks. only the volume. i tried pulling the fuse, but nothing works. i want to hear more about this code thing though, sounds promising

I had the exact same problem and after searching and googling, I figured out that maybe the buttons were jammed in the the D pad part where you change the songs and stuff.. so I took it and fiddled with thebuttons and still no go, so then I pulled a Fonz and punched it because I was angry and it worked so it shook something loose,so I think it's locking up because somewhere in the cursor part is jammed and needs to be undone

The problem your having is from the buttons wearing out over time and the only way to fix the problem is to replace the face plate or the whole radio.

Every Button Switches Between Radio and CD

Reset the radio by pressing a sharp object (pin, pen, etc.) into the small reset hole on or behind the face. If it doesn't have one, disconnect the negative cable from the battery for two minutes and reconnect. If you still have this problem, the radio is bad.

Try cleaning the CD player with a cleaning disc, that is the best way to troubleshoot this at a less costly price tag.

The volume wont go higher than 12 on my Jensen Mcd5110 Marine Radio/am/fm/Cd receiver W/Detachable face, how can I fix it to go all the way up to 26 plus?

take off the bottom cover ,find the volume switch on the outside then find it on the inside. Now get some WD-40 and spray the control on the inside with a very, very light squirt of WD - 40. Let it set for a while then try it.It should work.

It sounds like you may have a bad switch. If you have a multimeter you can check the switches for resistance. If the reading on any of the switches is less than a few megaohms it is probably bad.

It sounds to me like you may have a bad volume control switch. Unless you are good at unsoldering and soldering, I would suggest you have it repaired by a professional. Either that or see if you can find a replacement face at a pawnshop or something like that.

is your radio come with remote control? you can confirm other function with remote control, if still working, then most likely the face plate connector connection is loose, you have to dismantle the radio out from car, and then open out the side screw secure the face plate to radio body, Unplug the face plate out from body and re assemble back to test.

For the Trutech cd clock radio (cd1189) I am attempting to get it to play a particular cd track as an alarm. Is this possible, or can I only play the first track?

I think it will only play the first track.
You can "rip" the original CD and then "burn" the track you want to a blank CD as track 1. I believe this is the only way possible.

Set alarm clock

goto http://voxrightnow.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12057/~/operating-the-rca-rp4803-clock-radio
or follow instruction
  1. Press the SET button until WAKE 1 / WAKE 2 icon is blinking.
  2. Press REV or FWD to set the wake time. The time decrements or increments will follow by a faster rate when you press and hold either REV or FWD.
  3. After the WAKE time is set, press SET repeatedly until no icon is blinking.

Tips:

  • The unit equips with GRADU- WAKE feature, the alarm tone volume will increase gradually to its maximum in about 30 to 45 seconds.
  • If you set the SLEEP function with low volume level before going to bed, we advise using WAKE mode to wake you up since its volume will automatically increase.

Waking by Selected Source: You may be woken up by WAKE, RADIO or CD.

  1. Select an AM or FM station.
  2. Set wake time (see above directions).
  3. Press WAKE 1 or WAKE 2 to select waking up by WAKE, RADIO or CD. Corresponding indicator will be shown next to the selected setting.
  4. Adjust the volume by turning VOL.

You can select your CD wake track by the following procedures:

  1. Make sure you have inserted a CD.
  2. While holding WAKE UP CD TRACK, press REV or FWD to select your desired CD wake up track.
