Was running perfect and one day i tried to start and nothing so what do i do to troubleshoot my starting problem
I have this type blower -25 cc craftsman 358.794741 model. took my first one back aftwer it run for awhile. they fixed it. ran for awhile and then stopped. found out sears sets these things to very lean to pass cali. emmision standards. adjusters on carb. need a speacial tool --- so they say. took a 1/8 in socket with a raised neck. think it was 3mm. ground down the outside a bit. tool set perfectly down onto adjusting screw. turn counter clockwise 1/4 turn started everytime after that. .

I found the bolt on the bottom of the blower fan was loose and when I pulled the cord the piston was not going up and down. After I tightened the bolt it was looking like it might start but it would only fire when the primer button was used, there was no gas coming from the carb into the motor on it own. I saw nothing wrong with the carb but I did not check the head yet. I am looking for a manual but nothing so far, I need a breakdown of the carb and what the setting of the idle screw should be.

I had a similar problem and found that the cylinder head had loosened up due to vibration. I tightened the cylinder head and it worked find.

HI THE FIRST THING TO DO IS REMOVE LEAD OFF SPARK PLUG TOP THEN REMOVE SPARK PLUG ITSELF YOU WILL NEED A SPARK PLUG REMOVER OR A SOCKET TO DO THIS AFTER REMOVING THE SPARK PLUG CLEAN OFF EXCESS OIL BY DIPPING IN CLEAN PETROLAND CLEANING WITH TOOTHBRUSH LET DRY THEN WITH A FOLDED PIECE OF WET AND DRY SANDPAPER GENTLY RUB BETWEEN THE SMALL GAP AT END OF SPARKPLUG THEN REPACE SPARKPLUG AND IN MOST CASES IT SHOULD START FIRST GO BESTALUCK GLENN
