Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
When I'm on the main screen the console stays on with no problem as long as I need it to. But, when I put in a game or a movie, it plays a few seconds then the console just powers off. I've even tried letting it warm up a few minutes before I try to play, but it still powers off. It doesn't freeze, just powering off.
If the ps3 shuts down on its own it is due to overheating. It is necessary to disassemble the unit and apply AS5 compound and shim the heatsinks to ensure proper contact between the heat sink and the processors. I can do this for $55 or you can send to SONY if under warranty. If not under warranty they will fix for 150+tax call 1800345SONY
