I have a GMA X3100 and I need to update my drivers. The website I have found purporting to be download centers have been either confusing or else are selling some third party product. Help!

sounds like a driver issue. try to update the driver for it. if it says you're using the most up to date version, then uninstall the driver, visit the manufacturer's website, download the driver, and reinstall it. If that doesn't work, then the hardware itself may be busted.

Your VGA card is a GMA X3100, in the GM965 chipset. You can go to http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-025753.htm to download the drivers and software utility.
Make sure you have directx installed on your pc
you may need to do a windows update
If this does'nt work drivers can usually be found on line just type

It is quite possible that you may have to update the drivers for your video card. It is true that the device supports upto pixel shader 2.0 that is the DEVICE but if the DRIVER installed does not then the computer will not know how to use the video card in the right way. So update the driver and you should be ok.
