The tech guys fixed my computer after it crashed, and I noticed there is no sound on it anymore! I think they installed a new motherboard or something but I have downloaded the soundcard more then once and still nothing. HELP!
It is possible the repair tech left the speaker cable disconnected from the connector on the motherboard. If you don't find a software fix or as asish_shrm suggested try an external speaker or headset.

Starbug1S1- This may have been something you have already checked but I will suggest anyways. You said you had control of your sound from other means - Sounds and Audio Devices properties was one- did you notice a check box that reads Place volume icon on the task bar. This may remedy part of your problem if you put a check in the box. Hopefully this helps. Thanks.
