1) when you turn the printer on does the printer make a lot a noise and then display "ready"

Mecha trouble problem cutter pos

- in my case I received the error "mecha trouble cutter pos"

I removed both side panels and the panel directly in front of the cutter

this gave me access to the cutter assembly where I found that the cable that runs the cutter had fallen off of the pulleys.

I was able to get the cable back onto the pulleys and now the printer works perfectly

I'm getting a "Mecha Trouble

checking the gear by taking off both side panels and the panel directly in front of the cutter helped me - in my case I received the error "mecha trouble cutter pos"

problem was, the cable that runs the cutter had fallen off of the pulleys and after a bit of fussing, I was able to get the cable back in place and a working printer.

Mecha error o3

Mecha error 03 is a malfunction of the main pinch motor. Ninety-Five percent of the time the problem is that the motor has failed. The machine will more than likely have to be sent in for maintenance.

Sony up-dr 100 error 0007

This may well be a failure of the cutter switch sensor to reset. This worked for me.
Turn Off the Printer.
Remove both side panels and the plastic panel on the INSIDE of the DOOR on the right hand side. Then close the door and remove the plastic panel UNDER the door. This is held in place by two screws.

You will see a white gear on the bottom right hand side of the door. It is on the underside of the door. Turn this gear untill you can see the cutter move smoothly across the bottm of the door and return to the right side of the door. Listen for a click. This is the switch resetting. Close the door and power up the printer if you still get an error code 0008 or 0007 repeat the resetting process by turning the gear. BE SURE TO TURN OFF THE PRINTER!!
