Have had 2 thermostats put in and temp. will not go below 45 degrees. I have had 2 half barrels spoil all ready. I have had it just over a year and fridgaire will not cover anymore parts or labor. The dealership's service company will not come anymore, they say there is nothing wrong and it is working just fine. I have had thermometers in the fridge for 6 months and monitered every day since. I would like a cold beer or soda again.
Try cleaning the coolers condenser core.

Yes it is very possible that exactly what you are describing can be happening. Also try a thermometer frozen in a cup of water to get more accurate temps. Also 33 in the fridge is very normal for the cold control set on max and the heater installed. Let me know the temps in the frz with the thermometer sensing product temp not air temp which fluctuates often.

Generally speaking it is the refrigerator control that controls the compressor operation. Refrigerator is cooled by air from the freezer. When the refrigerator gets down to its designed temperature it shuts off the compressor. The freezer control determines how much air is allowed to flow into the refrigerator section and there-by controls the freezer temperature.

Sounds like defrost timer is not putting the refrigerator in defrost every 8 hours. You freezer should be below -5 degrees. Also the condenser beneath the refrigerator possibly needs cleaning. First slowly turn the defrost timer clockwise until freezer goes in defrost. You should hear the sound of crackling noise in freezer after about one minute into defrost. If timer does not come out of defrost or does not turn itself then replace it. Let me know what you find, Thanks Sea Breeze

You may be able to DIY if the problem is what I think it is.
Most combination units have the cooling located in the freezer compartment and use a fan to 'stir' the cold air and distribute it to the refrigerator compartment.
If this fan fails, then the fridge no longer gets fed any cooled air or at least very little.
With the compressor running, hold a couple of wet fingers near the vents in the fridge that are located in the back and top.
If you don't find a fairly good stream of cold air coming oout of the vents, then the fan is definitely bad.
These fans have only sleeve bearings of sintered bronze with graphite embedded in them.
They can build up enough loose graphite to jam the motor shaft so the fan cannot turn any more.
Sometimes, if the bearing is not too worn, you can work WD-40 or similar into them by spraying while turning the fan with a finger (power off, of course!). The WD-40 should be used to wash out the graphite from the bearing, don't expect it to really lubricate, it is a good solvent but evaporates pretty quickly.
Once the fan turns easily, grasp one or more blades and move it left or right, up or down, to feel if the bearing has now too much play.
If it does, replace the fan, they aren't expensive (that's why they fail).
As far accessing the fan, you are on your own since access varies from one brand to another.
