Re: CD stuck in CD-A500 drive

Take off the cd tray and take the cover off.
is it for laptop or pc?
if for laptop you'll find the bolt inside the hard drive or at the ddr memory.
be careful, not to damage the optical lens.

CD player does not recognise some CDs. When placed in the drawer the deck displays "no disc" if another CD player is used the disc works fine

I have two of these Tascam CD-A500 players, and one more than the other has this problem of not reading some CDs that will play fine in other players. I'm starting to loose faith in this Tascam product. Anyway, seems the consensus is to open it up and check for dirty laser optics. If that doesn't fix the problem, then send it in for repair or scrap it and buy a different brand. I've not had this problem with any other brand CD player, but very suspicious that the same problem happens on BOTH of my Tascam CD-A500 units.

I have a denon 3500 cd player my cd is stuck

Open the top cover of your CD using a screw driver, (usually a star screw driver),. Then, manually turn the driving gear of the CD tray to free the stucked tray and until to the point where you can take the disc from the tray. Be careful so the setting of the tray and the laser eye is not change. Then, close the close the cover and play. You can send your e-mail thru fix ya to let me know.

Cd tray opening and closing all the time

Dear friend, my sony dvd drive tray opens and closes itself, it is mostly a problem related to hardware. in my case I removed the IDE Data cable connected to the dvd drive and reconnected it again. now my dvd drive works well, I think the problem was the IDE data cable, may be a loose contact.due to this loose cantact,a jung signal goes to the dvd drive, which opens and closes the tray frequently without our knowledge.

CD player WILL NOT PLAY and does not recognize CD presence

HI. this is optical lens assembly failuer. the optical lens is burned out, in return, inducing the (no CD) message. simply replacing the optical lens assembly will fix this issue.

There is one of two things that is wrong with it..

1 the laser lens is dirty and needs to be cleaned witch you can fine a laser lens cleaner at your local radio shack.

2 the laser lens could have been bumped off the track so is that is the case you will have to poen it up and use something soft like a Que tip and gently nudge it.

Generally something that is time related with a CD player indicates that there is something stuck in one of the gear teeth that drive the laser back and forth to play different areas of the disc. A very small piece of dirt/sand can get inside and stuck in a gear tooth preventing the laser from moving past that point on the CD, in your case it's about the 40 minute can try skipping to say the last song on the CD which will advance the laser unit a bit more quickly than if you were to let the disc play through, that might dislodge the piece.
Another scenario could be a cracked gear in the same drive area. This is not as likely as you say it plays for 40 minutes or so. There is a piece that is attached to the laser which has gear teeth in it that mesh with the gears that move it, I'd suspect it's in there.
Make sure you do not have the player plugged in when you open it, the laser is capable of damaging your eyes.
