High pitch crackle buzing sound when set turned on

I have a JVC 32 inch TV model AV-32730 that was given to me, when I turn the set on it has a high pitch crackling buzing sound for about 30 seconds then the sound becomes normal with no noise. This only happens when the tv is turned on after it has been turned off for a while and the set is cooled down. I also noticed the sound seems to go up and down almost fading in and out when watching.

Yep, I have the same problem. My TV is 32" and is 10 years old. Anybody got any ideas?

My TV will turn on for a few seconds and turn off. I can see the lamp is lit in the back. The blue switch near the lamp is in the down position as it should be. At first I heard the high pitch whirring sound when I tried to turn it on, now nothing. I unplugged the set and cleaned the dust with compressed air. From what I have been reading, it might be the color wheel. Does anyone agree?

I have a samsung neo 32 inch picture tube tv. When I turn it on there is no picture or sound, but there is a light high pitched noise.

That high pitched sound is likely the Horizontal Output section trying to work. It operates at 15,750 Hz or at the upper end of normal human ears.
It will sound like a high pitched whine.

This is a section or your television that you don't want to fool with unless you are quite familiar with servicing your set. There are very high voltages involved and only a qualified technician should tend to this defect. It maybe easy to fix or it may be quite involved. Get an estimate first then decide to go further or not. There is a potential fire hazard here so don't operate your set until this is resolved.

Hi.JVC AV-32F803/Y Turn on and shot it self off in a few seconds?

Sound like no High Voltage, have you tried the Horizontal output. Also look at caps in power supply for leaky ness.

JVC AV-32730 36" picture problem..

From what you describe, a solder joint has probably cracked loose in a power supply or deflection circuit, which is quite common. Since you do sometimes see a good picture, all of your major components are fine. Repairing cracked solder joints is a very easy procedure and definately worth fixing on a 32 inch TV. The first 2 digits of the model number indicate the size of the TV.

No picture on tv screen

When you say no picture, is there any sound or noise coming from rear of set when you try to turn on. If so then you have no high voltage and maybe a cap in the HV line that is bad. If no sound at all, then maybe a fuse or open resistor in powersupply.

JVC AV-32F704 32" TV Picture is blurry - cannot read any writing on the screen

You didn't mention if you saw fine white diagonal lines running through the screen from top to bottom. If so, you likely have a shorted Picture Tube which is not usually fixable. If there are no lines seen running through the screen, then it is possible the High voltage transformer which also has a screen voltage and focus control built in that could be bad. I would expect the cost of that part to be about $100, so the repair cost total could approach that of a new set I would guess.
