Question about Sharp Viewcam VL-Z3U Mini DV Digital Camcorder
Open up all the doors
pull the tape and
leave that door open also
pull the battery
and leave the camera overnight on the water heater
regular water heaters are pretty warm, and your camera will dry out nicely

Depends how long you've been using the camera without
Maintenance from a professional company. It's about $20 to 30 dollars for a complete check and cleaning... I do it every 3 years... my camera works perfectly. Any defects they will find them and for a small charge they will fix them right up.
Also have a head cleaner after 24 hours of taping and or reviewing you'll need to clean your heads with a sony cassette head cleaner that runs for 10 seconds automatically when you press play.

The only thing I can suggest is resetting the camera by removing the tape and closing compartment... then remove batteries and let sit for 3 minutesturn on camera and insert tape, you should get it to work... my cam does the same thing, I use it and right when something important comes up I get hit with the dew warning.. apparently its a faulty sensor inside the camera usually I can override it by resetting the camera. I hope this helps in any way, i know the frustration with these damn camcorders, it will be the last dv cam I buy from sharp
