I'd buy a USB 2.0 hub, connect it to one of the ports, then set the hub on top of the computer. That would make it convenient to connect devices to the hub and give you high speed to run your new devices. Good luck

Rear USB doesn't recognize USB keys or other USB appliances

Hi,

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your usb ports?
Not all usb ports are powered, this is why there is an external power supply required sometimes. Does the usb stick work in any other port or on another computer - check your manual and see if the port you are plugging it into is powered or not if you don't have the manual it can be downloaded from the website. Having said that it is rare for a usb stick to require power..sometimes after continued use you can get a short on your port that can also cause issues and be very hard to spot, especially if its intermittent. Also check for any grunge that may have accumulated within the port.
I have also had some usb sticks that were just temperamental, try another in the same port as they are pretty cheap these days for small ones.
Hope this helps and happy to help further if required.
Here is a link to your manual.
Cheers

I PLUGGED MY MP3 PLAYER INTO MY LAPTOP USB PORT AND IT USED TO WORK NOW IT SAID THE USB DEVICE HAS EXCEEDED ITS POWER LIMITS OF ITS HUB PORT AND WONT WORK NOW

If you get an error message"Insufficient power to operate USB device" when you plug a USB deviceinto the computer's USB port, then this device is drawing excessive currentthat the USB port cannot supply. The maximum output from an USB port is 500mA. In case such as this, youneed to purchased a powered USB hub and connect this hub into the computer'sUSB port and then connect the USB device into this powered USB hub.

What port on the back of the hard drive do I plug the durabrand uc280 USB powered speakers into?

Hi Missy
You don't plug the speakers into the hard drive.
You should have two cables or wires
a USB cable, which you want to plug into any open USB port. the USB cable will not plug into any port other than a USB port, so just find any open one.
The second wire should be a male 3.5mm stereo jack plug.
If you have a desktop computer, look on the back for a round green hole that the stereo jack will fit into. There may or may not be a symbol of headphones. You may not have a symbol or colored hole, in that case find the two or three holes that the plug will fit into, then turn on a program that should have sound, then plug the stereo plug into each of the holes until you hear sound. If you hear no sound no matter which hole, check to make sure you do not have the sound muted.
If you are using a laptop, look for the hole with the headphone symbol.
Hope this helps.

Hi.

USB flashdrives are usually all plug and play so you don't need any additional drivers for them.

Try plugging the flash drive into a different computer. If it works on another computer your USB slots maybe faulty.
If the flash drive is not picked up by another computer then the flash drive is probably faulty.

I plug my I pod Touch in to my computer and its not charging. Its only two months old?

It may be that the Power Supply Unit in your computer is struggling to cope with the demand of the components you have in your computer. Manufacturers try to use the one with enough watts output that they can get away with. It could also be that the PSU is failing.

Does the i-Pod charge if you use the mains adapter that came with it?

Yes that’s it! Note that this does not mean just turning off your computer because modern computers don’t really turn off when you press the power button as the motherboard still gets power.
The motherboard is where all of hardware of the computer is connected to, including the USB ports. Sometimes the motherboard needs to be “rebooted” also because something can go wrong, i.e. all your USB ports suddenly stop working. The small microprocessor on the motherboard will reload the drivers and your USB ports should be back to recognizing all devices!
So first turn off your computer using Shut Down or pressing the power button and then UNPLUG it from the wall outlet. Let it sit for about a minute and then plug it back in. (VOILA)

Hi,

i,d suggest that the ports are incorrectly wired on the motherboard headers, Or possible Bent Pin on the USB shorting out, when device is connected. 5V+ and 5V- will cause the computer to Arc, and restart.
