Detaching Lens Hood

Tamron SP AF 90mm F/2.8 Di Macro 1:1
In the Manual it only gives instructions how to put the lenshood on,but

Please help! Kind Regards Erling

I'm not sure of the exact model number of your lens, but the hood should have a bayonet flange and rotating it in one direction or the other should allow it to then simply pull off.

Was I sold a 'pup'? Tamron lens box says AF55-200mmF4-5.6LD MACRO. Can't find macro setting on lens or instructions. Looking at your site, Product Details says 'No Macro'. So what's...

Excerpted from a www.photo.net review of the lens:

Though the Tamron AF 55-200mm Di II LD Macro has "Macro" in its name, it's not really a macro lens. Maximum magnification is about 1/3 life size (Tamron spec it at 1:3.5) as you can see from the following image below, which was shot at 200mm and at the closest focus distance (0.9m/37.4"). This isn't too bad, but it's more of a close focus telephoto lens than a "macro" lens (bolding for emphasis added).

Hi, I've had this lens for a month, and in the information that came w/it, it does not explain when to use the "full" and "half". It's been a guessing game to me, can you explain that...

In "full" mode, the auto focus will use the whole range of the lens. In "half" mode, only half the range will be used.
Limiting the range to half, makes it auto focus faster. The half mode should be used when you are taking close ups. This will keep the lens from focusing on objects far away by accident.
Hope that helps!

Lens hood

The thread for filters, hoods, etc is all the same, on virtually every lens. The diameter is all that varies, with few exceptions. You need a 62mm hood. This is common item. You would probably want a collapseable rubber hood with a 62mm thread. I'm not positive if I can say this, or not. It's always easier to to beg forgiveness than get permission. I would call one of the photo houses in NYC. They advertise in Shutterbug.com. Any of them would have what you're looking for.
