Hi my compaq laptop is having problems recognising any CD i put into my drive. This started a about 2 months ago when my VLC payer stopped working and now last night i put in a blank CD with pictures on it and nothing. I can hear it doing something after inserting the disc. I have trying blowing on the disc and the CD holder just in case of dust, ect but nothing. The disc registers on my TV DVD player so its not the disc.
The only thing i have done is update my Anti Virus software Avast. Then the VLC stopped working and now this. The other night too upon logging on something popped up asking about CD drives and it gave the option of my Optus broadband or windows(sorry i cant quite remember)-and i cant remember what i selected!.Please help!, Bec
Try rolling back your pc if not try puting a old or new dvd or cd drive in

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!
