Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have installed the most up to date flash player from Adobe, with the most recent updates. However, when I come to using a website with flash content I am told I do not have the correct flash player and need to install it. I have re-installed several times but still have the same problem. Thinking it maybe a registry problem, I installed a program called Error Smart that found hundreds of errors which it resolved, but still I have the same problem with flash content. I am running Windows XP home edition and IE7. I really hope you can help.

Hi Greg,
there are many sites on the web that are using old content and the problem may be that the program you are trying to access is so old that the new flash player cant read it. Also the problem may be on their side, you might ask a friend to try and get into this particular site.

that said theres a couple things we can try here.
First off, i dont know if you know this is but Youtube.com is written in flash so if you can see the videos there then your flash player is working correctly which means that the trouble is not on your pc but on the site itself and they should be notified of the error.

Secondly there is another web browser you can use to help troubleshoot this and its as good as IE7 if not better called firefox. All the nerds like myself usually have both on our pcs and i personally use only firefox. which you can get here . the reason we would try another browser is to see if the problem is really on your side or their side. If you still cant see the websites flash and get the error that your flash is the wrong version then the problem is on their side.

That said it is also possible that your security settings in IE7 are blocking the content. Its possible to change the security settings to a lower state by going to tools>Internet options>security and messing with the settings there, although i dont advise running around the internet on low or no security as it could be harmful to your PC's health.

I hope this helps and if you have any further questions i'll be more than happy to answer.

You probably need to update Adobe Flash player, or your video card drivers.

Adobe Install different version of Adobe Flash Player

To updated you video drivers go to the Start menu (assuming you are using windows 7) right click on computer, and select manage. Enter in administrator password if needed.

In the list, look for video adapters, select the device, right click, and select "Update Drivers". Choose the option to search online.
If that doesn't work, check out the manufacturers website and find appropriate drivers for your system.

Good luck!

I have always signed on aol to pogo member now it tells me my adobe player is out of date but I always used java for the last 8 years. I do not know why it is telling me this and I paid for a year for

https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Download the latest free Adobe flash player its free. Java has nothing to do with adobe .
If java is out of date it can be downloaded or updated for free also . But I did have an issue with the latest release of Java not working with Netdania charts. Had to use the past previous later version to get java to work.

Reason is Pago would have updated it's website to run with the latest Adobe flash player or Java.

Check for updates or just update adoe flash player
Adobe Flash Player allows users to view videos made with Flash, a common online video format that can be viewed by both Mac and PC users.

Because technology is consistently emerging, Adobe frequently updates its Flash player. Downloading an update is free, and may be required in order to watch videos online.

You will need at least 128 MB of RAM available on your computer to update Flash player, and Internet Explorer version 6.0 or later for Windows XP, version 7.0 or later for Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 8.0 or later for Windows 7.

Open Internet Explorer and navigate to Adobe's Flash player download site.
Click the download link and follow the instructions on your screen.

Click "Allow" or "Install" if your security system asks if you want to download the file.
Avoid running other programs while the download is going on.

Flash player tests itself by showing you a brief video when the download is complete.
If you do not see this video, the player has not been successfully installed and you must try the download again.

You tube vidoes wont load

1) Make sure your Adobe Flash Player is up to date,

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

[ Advise click on the small square to the left of -
Yes, install McAfee Security Scan Plus - optional
,and remove the green checkmark. THEN click on Download now ]

Be advised though, sometimes the new Adobe Flash Player download, will not automatically remove the old Adobe Flash Player version that is installed; and the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller Tool is needed.

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

Go to the bottom of this page. Under the bold subheading -
Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller - click on the blue - Tech Note.

On the following page go down to the subheading -
1. Download the uninstaller for Flash Player -
,and click on - uninstaller - in blue. (674 KB)

In the small window that comes up click on Save File.

Close all internet windows.

In the small download window that comes up next, allow the file to fully download, then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.

When you are finished with the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller, close all windows, restart the computer.
Now go back to Adobe Flash Player Support, and download the new Adobe Flash Player.

2) Make sure your Java is up to date,

http://www.java.com/en/

3) Sometimes I have found, that you have to click on Pause for the video, and allow it to download for a bit, then click on Play.

Adobe flash plug in has been crushed

If the flash player has crashed once, then it may not be a problem but if this is occurring repeatedly, then try to upgrade your flash player. If your flash player is up-to-date, then it may be the incompatibility between the flash player and the web-browser. In that case, try to have both the most recent updated browsers, like Mozilla Firefox 4, Google Chrome 12 or IE 8 or IE 9 and corresponding updated flash player.

To download latest softwares, click on the links below:
  1. Adobe Flash Player IE (for Internet Explorer, Avant, etc)
  2. Adobe Flash Player Non-IE (for Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, etc)
  3. Mozilla Firefox 4 RC
  4. Google Chrome 12 Beta
If you use Firefox or Chrome as browser, then Flash Player for Non-IE is sufficient, but still I recommend you to install both the IE and Non-IE flash players.

Hope this helps,
Regards,

Having problem to insalling Flash Player

Adobe Flashplayer does not automatically uninstall the old version, when you install the new version.

You have to uninstall the old version before you can install the new one.

To do this you use the Adobe Flashplayer Uninstaller,

http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html

If you have Windows on your computer use the top file -

Windows: uninstall_flash_player.exe (226KB) (updated 06/10/2010)

After you have finished uninstalling the old version, then install the new one,

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

(Click on - Get the latest version - to the right of the f in the Red square)

Tried both solutions adobe flash player 10 still failed to register

You may need the latest Java Updates. Go to www.sun.com and download the latest Java Console to your computer. After installation, try to download Adobe Flash Player again. If it does not work then your operating system may not be compatiable with Adobe Flash Player 10. You may need to download an older version such as Adobe Flash Player 9.

You can find older versions of Adobe Flash Player such as 9 on www.cnet.com type in the search field (adobe flash player 9). After the options show up, choose the file to download and install.

Be sure to check your available memory and system speed which are also factors when installing flash software.
