Casio Register 265P - Doubling Tax in Sales Total

I am having a problem with a Casio Register I'm using for a non-profit fundraiser. The register is doubling the 6.5% sales tax when it calculates the total.
For example, the receipt will show a sale of $12.00, sales tax of $0.78 and a total of $13.56.
After reading through the manual and the website, I cannot find a solution. If anyone can provide some advice, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you so much for getting back to me. The mystery continues.....
I shut the register off and set it aside since it was being problematic. I turned it on again today and found that the sales tax was not registering at all. I went ahead and programmed the sales tax and it is now working properly.  Since it is being so fussy, I am thinking maybe there is a problem with the battery?

That could be tricky. we will need to go through the tax setup in your machine.

My first questions are:

1. Does it happen on all department (item buttons)?
2. Does it happen no matter what payment method you use (cash, check, credit)?
3. When you push Subtotal, does it show the wrong amount then, or only when you press a payment type to open the drawer?

I would like to know how I round my taxes up for sales. Ex I sell one product that is $1.30 + 15% tax = 1.50. When I sell 2 of these items the register rounds down and the price is $2.99. How can I ge

If you round up, you are charging more than 15% in tax. $2.60 x 15% is $.39 = $2.99. $1.30 x 15% is $.195 which gets rounded up to $.20 for a total of $1.50.

I have never had to do this, but the settings for gross and net are usually in machine features settings, so go through the tables in your book and see if you can find a setting for it in machine features.

I am trying to program the tax rate on my casio pcr 265p register but it keeps reading way above the tax rate I enter. It is for Texas 8.25%, when I enter 12.99 and add tax it shows 15.20 which is not...

Sounds like a programming problem, or could be that the register is keeping too many entries and not replacing an old entry, just adding onto it and giving you more than 8.25%.

800-638-9228 is the toll-free Programming Assistance number from the manual, page 7, since it's toll-free they would be the best option.
