KevinStacey,

In the specifications on Dells Website it does list a DVD RW drive as an OPTION for this model.
Seeing as this is an Option and NOT a standard component we are still up in the air yet. Sooooooo now we have to to a bit of research on your behalf.

1.) Press the <Windows> key and <Pause break> to bring up the properties page for your PC

2.) there should be a "Hardware" or "Device manager" tab or link on this page (Depending on Operating System)
3.) after we get to the device manager we should see a list of hardware on the system, click on the CD/DVD option or Optical drive option (Again depending on OS)
4.) If you have adrive listed here as DVD -R or DVD +R or DVD -RW or DVD +RW or DVD RAM then you do indeed have a writable drive and just need the burning software.

If not one of those options you likely just need to install a DVD writer drive and your good to go.

Hope this helps you out.

Hi kevinstacey7,

your answers unfortunately is yes and no... not very helpful eh? :)

you see the DELL B110 can come with any type of optical drive including a dvd burner but you have to opt for it when you buy it. If you are unsure or want to find out more about your machine then click on:

Start menu> Control Panel> System> Hardware> Device manager

In that screen you can see all of the hardware that your PC has installed.

there is a particular one that we want to see and that would be the CD/DVD hardware if you press the little plus sign and you see that DVD RAM (not rom) is installed. then you can burn DVDs.

That said the easier way to find out is to stick a blank dvd into the drive and try to burn something with Nero (a cd/dvd burning software).

If i can help you with anything else pelase feel free to ask

I upgraded my B110 to 2x1GB of ddr400 ram. (PC3200) It is running at 333MHZ instead of 400 and my processor is bogged down. (Like 99%)

you will need to adjust the RAM setting in the BIOS, BUT you will need a manual to tell you how.link below. Also I have no doubt you have but ensure, again, it is the correct RAM.

I took out my old hdd, and put a new one in with double the GBs.....but now when I turn on my PC, all I get is a blank screen? Won't let me load the OS....

First set your harddisk as master which has operating system.
And set slave as your new added hdd.
You can ser master and slave with jumper settings.
Read diagram on HDD.
Then check .
Also check in bios that your first boot device is your hdd which has os.
Let me know if you need more assistanse.
Thanks.

Mouse and keyboard suddenly stopped working on Dell b110 desktop

Disconnect external peripherials except keyboard and mouse .Disconnect the power cable.Hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain flea power.Reconnect the power cable and turn on the computer When the blue DELL™ logo appears, press immediately. In bios there is option for Function key F9 or F10 probably to reset to defaults.SAve and exit and restart the system .Then try to use the PC restore feature on dell. check http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim1100/en/SM/syssetup.htm#wp1055545
