Re: Cam not shutting off or recharging.
Sounds like the camera shorted out. Using a camera at night temperatures could cause condensation, especially moving from outdoors to indoors and vice versa. If it is under warranty, time to send it in. I would guess it needs a new system board.

The manual is explaining how to work when you can't shoot pictures on page 181 and 182. To much to repeat it here. The manual is still online. But the shooting could be too much for your battery. As a precaution the camera shuts down. Try to recharge the battery. If that does not help, or perhaps you can take one or a few pictures before it shuts down, you know your battery needs to be replaced.
first if u want to get ur cam to work use energizer rechargeable batteries after charging them for sure this is the best kind u can use powerful and last longer ,to get ur pictures out u can take memory off the cam and put it inside memory card reader then plug it to ur computer through usb ,computer will read it easy and u can download ur pics to ur pc
You problem set your camera to use internal memory only. Set the memory function to memory card only and all pictures will go to the memory card until it is full. You can probably still transfer your pic files from internal memory to your card.
If the pink & white pics are a small percentage of your photos you should probably just live with it. I have 6 cameras in operation for 2 yrs & they have about 10% like this. Great pics otherwise. Probably caused by the angle of the sun or reflection of the flash off a nearby object.
its the card not the camera.
i think you fingers have come into contact with the gold bits on the xd card.
try wipping the card and putting it in several times,if all fails buy your self an olympus 1gb xd card H TYPE. email@example.com
the best compact of all time was the Olympus C-70 Zoom Camera which can be found 2nd hand over ebay.
