- if in windows the LPT ports are addressed properly (if u got a many usb ports, then windows adresses these first and skips the older lpt's- same applies when using an external usb-hub/splitter!)
- that there are no dma or irq conflicts (see device manager) - if the right driver is installed, if it suits the windows version u are using/has been written for it
- doublecheck printer against another printer on your pc using same port
your problem may be in the serial /usb adaptor that you are using
any reason why you cannot connect the usb cable from the printer directly to a usb port on the computer
like any other printer
If you are using a standard serial port o n the PC, you can use a 9-25 standard null modem cable, available at most PC shops, Best Buy, Etc.
If you are using a parallel output on the PC to the parallel input on the Zebra, also the cable would be a standard centronics cable.
The printer is installed on the PC using a specific port. If it's installed on the USB port, it won't work on the parallel port. Do you have this printer installed 3 different times? Need more details such as how was it installed the first time? And if it's working on the other 2 ports, why does it have to work on the parallel?
