Question about Sony PlayStation® 3 (60 GB) Console
It was working fine earlier that day,in the afternoon i went to turn it on and it doesnt even go to the menu screen now,i thought it might have een the tv ,but after hooking it up to another tv i got the same results,Im not retarded and i know how to hook up electronics, any one got an answer???
I had this same problem, you turn the ps3 off, then hold the button down for 8 seconds, then it should give you a message saying a HDMI device was detected or something like that and ask if you want to use it. (not sure about the message) but it's pretty easy to figure out and all (the message part).
hope it works for you as well.

The "NO VIDEO/PIXELATED VIDEO" problem is all too common on the PS3. It results from overheating of the RSX and/or CELL processor. It is necessary to disassemble the unit apply AS5 compound and shim the heatsinks to ensure proper contact between the heat sink and the processors. I do this for $55 or send to SONY if under warranty. If not under warranty they will fix for 150+tax call 1800345SONY
