SOURCE: Bobbin Case

I'm having a similar problem today. I took out the bobbin case and when I went to put it back in, the whole system locks up. I've tired cleaning, changing needle taking the metal plate and piece that holds bobbin case out and put it all back in after cleaning. Nothing. My symptom is I can't get a complete stitch, the needle goes down, the whole deal acts like it will work and as soon as the arm of the bobbin case gets to 8 o' clock on the gears, It jams and won't hardly move. I cannot pull the bobbin case out easily after this. Perhaps there is someone out there that can help us!

SOURCE: Singer Concerto sewing machine model 9217 - bobbin thread problem

This problem is common in sewing machines with plastic bobbin cases. The new case you've ordered will most likely solve your problems. I might suggest checking the point of the rotating hook, to be sure it is burr free.

The bobbin housing in singer model 9410 keeps moving out of position

After you put the bobbin case in, release it, and then pull on it to make sure it is in correctly.
The gathering is called a "bird's nest", and is caused by the machine not being threaded correctly.
Rethread the machine top and bobbin.
Then, sew a test stitch on a scrap of like material.

I have a singer 237 and the bobbin thread gathers

Nice solid machine that one, top tension on 4 or 5, make sure the bobbin turns anti clockwise in the bobbin case, if the thread is pulling out too tight slacken the screw on the bobbin case ant clockwise about a quarter of a turn at a time and test, you should only just be able to pull the thread through with slight resistence

Try buying a new bobbin case, it probably was damaged by jumping out of position.

The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210 sewing machine keeps popping up in the back causing my thread to bunch up underneath. What is causing this? Is the bobbin case in wrong? How is it supposed...

From what I gather on other sites, your thread has to be threaded under tension.... You have to make sure you hear a click when your bringing your thread down to the bottom of the "arm". Also, I thought the bobbin case was rather loosely held in its place, I adjusted this by unscrewing the black plate and moving it over just a smidge. The bobbin is supposed to have some wiggle room, but it kept popping up and making the tiny adjustment seems to have done the trick....for now...

Bobbin case and threading singer 6423

This machine has a black plastic bobbin case. You drop the bobbin down into the case with the thread coming off in a clockwise direction. If you look close you will see a slot in the bobbin case where there is the metal pieces. The thread will slide into that and as you pull on it it will work its way through and come out on the other end of the metal. Lay the thread over top of the bobbin case and turn the handwheel to pick up the thread. (make sure you close the slide plate)

I dont know how to thread the singer 2517c sewing machine

all machines thread the same. TTN tension, take up, needle.
Beginning with the spool, guide the thread through the thread guides to the tension assembly. Pull the thread through the tension assembly and test it to make sure the tension is working correctly.
(To do this test, adjust your tension setting to normal or medium or 5 or something in the middle. Raise the presser foot and pull the thread through the tension. It should pull easily!! Lower the presser foot and pull the thread. It should pull noticeably harder.) If it passes this test, continue up through the take up lever, then down through the thread guides to the needle. Make sure your needle is fully inserted and turned the correct way.( If you load your bobbin case from the left side, the needle rule is normally FLAT to the RIGHT is RIGHT. There are some exceptions. If you have a newer style drop in bobbin or your bobbin case loads in the front then the rule is FLAT to the BACK.
