Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have an HP7540 monitor that I need to be able to change red, blue and green colors on thru the menu

I hope you know how to enter and navigate through the OSD (On-Screen Display) menu of your monitor.
Enter the menu and navigate to 'Color' menu.
Under that select 'User'.
Now you can select either Red, Green or Blue.
After selecting a color it can be increased or decreased.
Press Exit button to go back, select the next color and set it to your liking.

My Brother is trying to connect to HP Pavillion XT914. A friend connected her flat screen to his pavillion to help him delete unwanted files and he can't get the monitor to work any more. How do we get his...

It might be that the screen resolution set on the pc is too high for the monitor to display.
try hooking up the flat panel monitor again. (CRTs can have a flat screen as well)
lower the screen resolution to 1024 X 768 pixels click save.
hook up the other monitor to see if that was the problem.
If you can get the monitors menu to come up on the monitor try setting it to factory defaults.

If no luck, does the monitor work on another PC?

Let me know if this helps you or not.
Thank you

Monitor fs740 contrast is 0%, can't adjust it.

in your monitor settings you should have a default settings selection button you can Select and it will or should set your monitor to default . If it doesn't work , you have a problem with the monitor itself .

How to close the small blue monitor control window that pops up unexpectedly? Escape does not work, the cursor disappears behind the window. Compaq model FS7600

From what I can gather from the "help" files on the hp website when the display comes up (presuming you are referring to the control display) then you need to use the buttons on the front of your monitor to exit it.

Button 1 launches the control display
Button 2 moves backwards (left) through options
Button 3 moves forwards (right) through options
Button 4 is the "select" button
Button 5 is the power button.

When the display comes up, you need to use buttons 2 or 3 to get to the "Exit" label on the display. Then press button 4 to select this.

The user guide for this model is here

Frequency out of range

Try to set the monitor refresh rate to Adapter Default despite of Optimal or lower rate of refresh. For this first download the manual of your monitor and check what is the highest refresh rate your monitor can suport. Then goto the display properties and set the adapter refresh rate to Adapter Default. In most cases such problem is solved. You did not mentioned the OS. This method is applicable in Windows only. Um, lets see. Does any of the buttons work? Try and find a button that will switch settings back to factory default. If not go to control panel and change the screen resolution to see if that helps in the mean time.

Compaq Monitor Model 7600

Dear Lilrose: Here's how to dim your FS7600 monitor. Press
"menu" on the front of your monitor. Now press + button until
the icon just to the very right of the 12 0 clock position is
highlighted. Now press select. A graph will appear and by
pressing the minus button the screen should start to darken.
When you are satisfied, push the menu button to escape.
Hope this helps.
