Ok, make sure that your hard driver is properly connected also go into the bios and tab to where it says boot sequence and make sure that your hard drive is the first one in the list.

What is the password I need to enter on the black screen on my toshiba satelite C855

more info please, you say black screen??? you mean a starup password before it loads the bios, ie well before windows starts, or is it as windows is starting up, more info please, and i have 2 possible fixes, both a little complicated as you may need to open the laptop up to remove the small round internal battery for 10mins then replace or i'll try and guide you to reseting the bios by bridging a couple of jumpers located near or behind your Ram chips.
This can be complicated and if your not comfortable in taking things apart i dont recommend it, so taking it to a pc shop will help but not sure how much it will cost.

best regards

How do I clear the BIOS password on a da0ma2mb6d8 motherboard?

On almost all modern motherboards there is a jumper(it should be labeled on the motherboard).
Look on the board, and remove the jumper, and boot up without the jumper in place.

This should reset the passwords back to factory....usually means that there will be no password.

then turn power back off, and replace the jumper again, and then boot up again.
Your system should now be bios password free, and you can go into the bios and set a new one if you wish.
I hope this helps you out, and have a nice day!

I want to disable the system password on my dell computer

I assume that you have the password? Restart your computer. As soon as you see the dell screen, hit the f2 key. This will take you into setup. Look through the different menus and you will find the password options somewhere. You should be able to disable it there.

When I turn on my packard bell computer on it comes up with a black screen saying "Boot from CD / DVD" and a BIOS password?

Remove the battery on the motherboard to restore default settings.
check the connection to your Hard drive (the system is not seeing it)
The battery removal will take care of the password, and you will be able to get in the BIOS.

good luck and don't forget to vote!!!

Black screen, then test screen.Did the mobo or vid card fry?

if you fried a psu, it was probably caused by a motherboard fault.
You could try removing the geforce card, and try plugging the monitor into the onboard graphics port if it has One. These boards also suffer from bios chip problems, so a replacement bios chip may be another suggestion. failing any of this the motherboard is faulty and should be replaced.

How to reset Asus PC-DL Deluxe BIOS

Remove the Lithium Flat Battery from the motherboard, then start the machine. Let it run for about 5-10 seconds and then turn it off and put the battery back in.

Some motherboards when you try to power it up without the battery, will not turn on. Press the power button 2-3 times and then place the battery back in and it should achieve the same results.
