Thin twin stacked washer/dryer...dryer won't stay on

Dryer will only run for about 1 minute, then turns off. I tried changing the timer, to no avail. Gonna change the high limit next. Any suggestions?

The dryer starts and only stays on for about 3 min. I did a thorough cleaning on it hoping that would fix it.......didn't work. It almost sounds like its having to work too hard. I was thinking maybe the belt, but if the motor isn't turning, I don't think the belt is the problem. Is it a sensor or what?

    fixed the same problem...bad motor

I am checking the sensors just to make sure that isn't the cause, but I have a feeling its probably going to be the motor and ofcourse, its the more expensive fix

Dryer is taking too long to dry, can the element be worn out? whirlpool, thin twin heavy duty, large capacity

If it heats the element is good. Most likely cause is bad ventilation. check the vent on the outside of the house while dryer is running to make sure you are getting plenty of air flow. If you want to check to make sure its working properly general rule is 6 towels should dry in 60 minutes.

It's heavy duty thin twin model. The cycle stops at spin and water stays in the mashine.

When it gets to the SPIN cycle, wait 45 seconds. If it does not spin, open then close the lid.
If it spins then, replace the timer.
If it does not spin, replace the lid switch.

LTE6234 Whirlpool Twin Thin Timer Broken?

Check for voltage at the water inlet valve with the timer dial pushed in or in an off position. If no voltage replace the water valve. If you do have voltage you'll have to trace the circuits back from the water valve to the line. One point of demarcation is the water level switch. Pull the violet colored wire and see if it still fills while off. If it does it's likely the timer's bad.

How can I fix my whirlpool thin twin washer?

It almost sounds like your motor is kicking out on overload. The fact that it starts agitating after the fill can rule out the pressure switch. You have installed a new timer so we should be able to rule that out. It's possible that your pump is binding, which is attached directly to your motor and causing it to overheat. To tell for sure you would have to check the motor to see if it's getting power when it cuts out. Check your terminal block where the power cord comes in to see if all connections are secure. Other possibilities could be the clutch and brake assy. With out being there too see the problem, this is where I would start.
