unsupported cartridge error on Lexmark z1380, though cartridges are lexmark 2 and 3, and had been working perfectly well until this message. Have uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, cleaned contacts, everything - no joy. Is this the end of the road?

I have an IBM 6400 i10 Printer connected via Ethernet to my lan. We print to it from Windows using an IBM ProPrinter XL driver. We print from Visual FoxPro 9 using code that bypasses the driver and sends directly to the printer. Through ESC code sequences I can successfully print condensed and expanded print, etc. The IBM documentation says the printer will print bar codes. I need to print Code 3 of 9 barcodes on that printer using printer control sequences. If I use the report writer in FoxPro I can get it to print barcodes but I cannot get it to print all 85 characters to the edge of the paper and it is much slower. Here is the information I need and I am willing to pay for the answers. 1) Is there a resident barcode font already in the printer or can one be purchased and put in it or downloaded to it? 2) Specifically what are the control codes to access the barcode to print them? NOTE: I do not need the AS400 codes that then get translated to what the printer understands I need the actual codes to send to the printer to cause it to print the code 3 of 9 barcode. I am given to understand there are actual printer definition files on the AS400 that might contain this information. Even though we also have an iSeries AS400 I donâ??t know how to access that definition. I have searched the internet for this information, IBMâ??s website, and have asked ServIT for this information and they just sent me some links I had already run across in my own internet searches. Maybe Iâ??m to old and go back to far in this industry but it doesn't seem like this is rocket science or an unreasonable request for low level documentation on printer codes but I cannot?t find any that relate to barcodes for this printer or an IBM Proprinter that work. The only thing I have been able to find is in Brother printer manuals emulating Proprinter and the codes there do not work on the 6400 emulating Proprinter.
