Re: when x box 360 is plugged in to tv,there is no signal
Try reconnecting all the cables and make sure you have the right setting(normal tv or hd, theres a switch on the cable), if that doesnt work, you might have a faulty cable, or even worse your xbox has an interal problem(very hard to explain, read this if you cant connect to tv....(http://xbox-experts.com/e/errorcodes.php) and you'll need to send it to microsoft for repairs.

ok boys now this might work for some of you out there with the "no vedio problem" but it might not if your 360 is actually broken. i talked with microsoft and we worked together to find a small fix. it does not work 100% of the time but there still is a small chance.
Start off making sure the AV adaptor is set to "TV" or "HD" depending on what type of tv you have. then turn on you 360 with your first player controller when the 360 console turns on hold BOTH the left and right triggers and hold them down. then once you see on the console that first player is plugged in hold "Y" this should reset you 360 settings and restart you xbox 360. were not done yet unplug the power cord from the console along with the AV cables, wait 15-20 seconds then plug them back in and turn on the 360 from the consle if this does not fix the "no video problem" then you might want to look online for 360 repair guids, or sell it to gamestop and they will give you $40 store credit for a broken 360, or do what everyone else does send it in to microsoft. good luck boys.
If the person that you bought it from on E-Bay had an HD Television. Then the Xbox console is set into HD from the Display options. If your TV is not HD, then It will not display. It can also be the other way around, if His TV is standard and yours is HD. Also try looking at the RCA's(The Part that plugs into the 360) And you will see a slider. Switch the slider, then turn it on. Tell me if that works, if Not, tell me and I will tell you what to press on your 360 controller to set the other menu. Hope this helps.
turn your console off unplug the audio/video cable from back of xbox and plug it back in. make sure the white cord is in the hole of your tv and make sure the yellow one is in the yellow on the t.v. (unless your hd). make sure the cables are not loose. and on the plug in the back of your xbox for the audio/video cables is a switch that says hdtv and tv make sure its set to whatever your hooking up.
First, make sure you select either TV or HDTV selector on the Audio Video Cable that came with the XBOX. Second, if you chose TV plug the Audio/Video Cable connectot that are red, white , and yellow in color to your TV. Now see if you can see the Start up on the XBOX360.
If you still dont get anything, try plugging it on another television and see if that fixes your problem.
