My radar will only power up when the cabin temp is over 85F. Over that temp it works fine. I was told I need a new mother board ( very expensive). Is there any way to alter the circuit board to bypass the start switch?

Have you downloaded the latest gpsquickfix file? If not, do so. If you have, try a pin reset. May correct the signal capture problem. Not sure if your model has a 'reset' hole in the bottom. If so, use a paperclip and hold it in the hole for about 5 seconds or so.
If your model does not have a reset hole (it'll be marked but maybe not too clearly), then hold down the power on button for about 15 seconds. (until you hear the drum sounds). That's the equivalent to a pin reset. Regards
-Measure if you DSM has power.
-Maybe you Radar needs Power it depend on wich typ of Radar you have
-Software shoud be 5.23 of ALL your E Displays
- If you have a Networkswitch measure if you have power.
With a voltmeter, verify that you are getting 12V at the plug end of the power cable. If so, check the fuses (there should be one or two fuse holders on the back). If all of that fails you will need to send it in to Furuno for repair.
this is a gps navigation device. there is no radar detection with it. the only thing it has is an FM traffic service to avoid delays, which may not be available in france. in short, this device is not illeagel nor does it have any type or radar detection or even speed camera detection.
You have two things that orient the radar, on is called heading (or bearing) alignment. This is where you aim your radar so that a target comes up at 12 o'clock when dead ahead. Access this mode by pressing and holding menu duing power on, and go in to Installation Mode, radar setup, next page, align heading. I have posted a "tip" on this, search for VX2 radar alignment.
After this is done, North up is accomplished by having a magnetic input (fluxgate compass or autopilot). Calibration of this compass varies, but if it is accurate, then all should line up nicely.
Your problem is likely noise from the motor. Modern diesels use high speed networks, so it could be interference. Next likelihood would be a software issue. Is the diesel set up to display info on the G display?
Solution could be re routing cables, grounding or un grounding devices. First step is to send your processor to Raymarine, sorry, necessary step to eliminate hardware failure. This is a tough symptom, so do the easy stuff first.
