Having trouble with the Emerson EWD2003 VCR Time... (by 2 users)

I'm trying to time record something for Monday through Friday, so I don't miss my shows while I am at work. Well, have the timer recording thing programed, but it's not even recording anything nor is the red light on the VCR coming on when you have it on timer. Any help is greatly appreciated and thankful.
