Rattling noise during spin cycle

My washer will run through the cycle fine until it goes to the spin cycle then it makes a loud rattling noise and shakes excessively. I have checked for objects in the drain pump and have found nothing.

I should have been more specific on the noise, it sounds like maybe a screw or some change got behind the drum. Is there a way to gain access to this area without messing up the seal and causing a leak?

exactly the same - only now even if I turn it by hand it rattles & is catching on something - I suspect an underwire from a bra has worked loose & slipeed into the gap.  How do I get it out?  thanks

Same thing here... found the underwire's mate, but one is still stuck how do i get it out????

I get a rattling noise at times throughout virtually all cycles...seems like something is stuck outside the drum somewhere. Does anyone know if it's possible to easily get access to the area of the machine that may contain the offending item (most likely a nail or screw or something left over from a pocket!). I'm not keen on having to call (and pay for) the repairman.

My washer squeeks real bad when it goes into the spin cycle. Almost like sound of a spring squeaking. It doesn't matter how much is in the washer. It sounds better when it spins at its fastest.

I have the same noise during the spin cycle, sounds like a hand full of nails in between the drum and whatever. But I can't find anything. The solutions given below are usless, have you had any luck?

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

on many machines that is normal, the shaking continues until the load is distributed relative evenly around the spinning drum. It is also possible it is the main bearing but I am not sure. Frigidaire front loading washer has loud spin cycle, Why?

That's a great question, Roth!

Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire washer is making a loud noise during the spin cycle. This could be an issue with your bel, motor, or tub. In order to find the cause of your noise you may need to disassemble your washer. This is not a simple DIY job and I would recommend contacting a technician to come out. This will help prevent any future issues or personal injuries. -Matt

Washer won't agitate or spin out.

Well it is ethier Belt, Cluch ,motor ,Or transmission. But it does sound like your transmission . The loud clunk is the brake in the gear case ( Trans.). It might have broken off.

The inside of your agitator became worn, and possible strip out the spline that allows the agitator to properly grip the shaft. The loud noise mustly occurs during the spin cycle. If you hear this loud noise your load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it.

Noise during spin cycles

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.

Loud Noise - Spin Cycle

If the washer is making a squealing noise, the problem is more likely to be the basket drive. If it is more like a rattling sound, the centerpost bearings are probably worn out. Open machine's rear panel and spin the basket manually by turning the drive pulley, to find out from where exactly the noise come from. Defective part should be replaced. Good luck !!
