If the audiovox does not have digital capability you will need a converter. The converter "converts" the digital signal back to the old signal so that your tv will recognize and play it. Thanks for using fixya.
I was told by FUNAI CORPORATION Customer Service Tel :1-800-605-8453 Press option 4 to order new remote. http://www.funai-corp.com There is no universal remote that can put the tv back to digital. You would have to order a replacement remote. To order one call the number above and choose option 4.
RDD6 - I had the same problem with my AVT-1498. Took it to the repair shop who told me it would cost hundreds to repair. I figured I could find a replacement crt for less but was wrong - they don't make these tv's anymore, and really don't make any 12v crt's anymore period. So I decided on a 15" 12v ready LCD model which fit the hole where the old crt TV use to be. I needed to rig it to hold the LCD bracket but that wasn't too difficult. Used the automatic code search and it was working within minutes. The input-tv/vcr button on the bottom right of remote switches between AV and coax like it should...$10.00
I have a broksonic and the remote is broken. I have it on Aux and need it on Video. I contacted the company and there is no way to do this without the remote. I had to buy a new remote from them. The cost was almost $25.00. They are sending it to me and I will have TV again. I did tell them that this is a problem that needs addressed to the company and they were not very receptive to that suggestion. The number to call is 1-800-333-9099. Make sure you have your model number. This is what they wrote in an e-mail when I request assistance: "Unfortunately, our models are not compatible with any other manufactures." I took this as to not try any other type remote.
